I've tried to follow the editor's "tutorial" which is "_frame" "x" which frame from an animated md3"

so i've tried a bunch of different number but none is working

and yes i have checked in md3 view that the model have animations and it does

i couldn't find anything on other forums either

the model is: models/map_objects/factory/f_gen.md3

so if anyone know i would be great full :)

First of all: misc_model does not animate, period. That _frame setting, like all settings prefixed with an underscore, is for Q3Map2. It selects which frame of the animation the model will be in - forever.

For animated models you'll want something like a func_static with model2 and a script with SET_STARTFRAME and SET_ENDFRAME or whatever they're called. Affect the func_static (via its script_targetname), set those and it should animate (once).

I am indeed the same guy, and I did think of the jk3files post, but just answering seemed faster than looking up whether it was yours.

MD3 animation can be supported by the MP engine. It's just very nasty, and Ghoul2 is preferred for any sort of animation.

I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve though.

just want to the generator to play it's animation

i'm working on a medium duel map and i wanted to see if i could add a bit more

visual using the f_gen.md3 and having it play it's animations

EDIT: if no one got a solution i'll just add them as normal misc_model_static
