It's a hobby of mine, and with another one coming in little over a week I was wondering if anyone else amongst us had been to any conventions/whatever and if so, did they put together a costume for the occasion?

I've been wanting to go, but haven't been able to find the time/money whenever there was one anywhere close(ish) to me.

But I plan on going to some eventually, just gotta get around to it!

Ick, tell me about it. Last year I managed to get to loads! This year, I'm struggling for the funding to do it, so I've only made it to two, with only two more planned. This one coming up happens to be in my immediate local area, so I don't have to spend a lot of money getting there.

Well, I take that back...there was one last year, but I didn't hear about it till about 1 week before hand, and had no job for the money

Next year there is supposedly one happening in July that'll be only 1-2 hours away, gonna look into it. Dunno yet.

Yeah, that's one of the good things about these kind of events. If you can't make it one year, it's almost always on again in the same spot the following year.

 

Any ideas which characters you'd like to try out, if any?

If I'm able to get it together, I'll be going as Cloud Strife.

As if that's a really huge shock, lol... I'll either do Cloud, or I'll create Illrian

Some of the props I've picked up from stalls.

The third one down in this bit comes apart into the separate swords, but putting them back together again is a huge pain in the ass.

The Master Sword is made of hard foam, so you could swing it about without causing any damage to it or anything else. The other two are made of wood.

Aww, this looks fun. Some of those costumes are awesome. And I appreciate the effort put into some of them, cuz I like the characters a lot, even if it isn't perfect. =p

Same here! Cosplaying sounds like fun, though I've never done it. My brother and his wife have however, as TF2 characters.

ive considered cosplaying from Castelvania's dracula, to transformers generation 1, i can do the voicing for most of them

This was taken at the Escapist Expo I was at last weekend...I ended up in this video but sans my Creeper head @1:33 :/ several videos are floating around of me gangnaming as a creeper, just haven't found any yet....there was a lot of gangnam going on actually..

 

BTW, "Drunk Garrus" @3:08 was damn hysterical.
