SanadaSan Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Since I've recently happened upon Hapslash's Imperial officer reskins for Jedi Outcast and Cryptaea's adaptation of them to Jedi Academy with working rank insignia, I'd like to have Galak's head put on one of Hapslash's Imperials for consistency's sake--specifically, the Vice Admiral version, which one can get here: http://www.gamefront.com/files/6109441/Original_Trilogy_2_Navy_Imperials. As I'm only aware that this sort of thing is possible, I have no idea how large of an undertaking this would be, but I would greatly appreciate the assistance of someone who knows how to achieve this. Thanks in advance! McGroose and Jolly like this
McGroose Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 You're not the only one who wants this, buddy. http://jkhub.org/topic/6726-galak-mech-modifications-for-jk2/I decided to replace Galak with my own modified skin for Hapslash's imperial. He looks like this. This is a placeholder for me. I'd much rather have Galak's head be in the place of Hapslash's one. dark_apprentice likes this
Jolly Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I'll work on it Edit: That links download isn't working for me, gets stuck at 16%
McGroose Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Try thishttps://www.dropbox.com/s/g73d9y0rzwfq7da/Imperial%20Officer.pk3 The Vice Admiral skin is just the Imperial/Army skin in the regular mod.And a massive thanks to you, Jolly! P.S, this actually isn't the first time a Frankenstien for Hapslash's imperial has been done before. Kualan used Hapslash's imperial model for his Clone GAR Pack mod. http://jkhub.org/files/file/2425-clone-gar-pack/
McGroose Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 I'll work on it Edit: That links download isn't working for me, gets stuck at 16% I don't want to sound like a pest, but how is this going for you? Did the download links work?
Jolly Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 @@McGroose Sorry for the delay! I am helping another person make a "Beach Trooper" but when I am done (which will be soon) I will try my best to get this done too! Sorry for the wait! Edit: I have yet to try to load in the imperial officer but with the Blender plugins I have, models with a JK2 skeleton do not load properly into blender so hopefully I don not run into any problems! Edit: And as I thought, this model has a JK2 skeleton. If anyone knows a way around this, please let me know!
McGroose Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Consider asking Kualan. His model combined Hapslash's imperial body with a clone head. He could help.
Jolly Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 I got it working out Will put up pictures soon.
Jolly Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Ok so it's finished! I think I may upload it as a Galak Replacement for JKO/JA (it works for both using a JKO skeleton). Here are some screenshots! (pardon the FPS in the top right) McGroose likes this
McGroose Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Thank you so much! I've been hoping someone would do this for a while now. One last thing though, did you make his rank insignia permanently the 2X3 one, or is it still possible to change it to other badge types like 2X5 and 1X6 by using the skin and surf files? I can change the insignia myself if the latter is the case.
SanadaSan Posted January 15, 2016 Author Posted January 15, 2016 This is perfect! Thank you very much!
Jolly Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 About the insignia, I honestly couldn't figure out myself in the .skin files. Check it out for yourself and you might see what I mean. If you know how to correct this, send me a PM and I will update it.
