Astral Serpent Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 So, I decided I'd tell some of these newcomers about the greatness that is JA++.First of all, I should let you know that JA++ is authored by /Raz0r, who gave mepermission to post this. JA++ Is a modification (currently client-side only) that is fully compatible with JA+,that is, it does everything the normal JA+ client-side modification does andmuch, much more. Here's a quick list of features I can come up with off the top of my head:Strafe-jumping trailsChat timestampsFully customisable HUD using LuaAlt-tab supportVarious engine fixes and patchesA Lua API for plugin support (Check this out)Numerous security/bug fixesMany planned featuresAutomatic update downloadingAs you can see, JA++ Has a lot more than JA+ and even more than I could think off the top of myhead in this list (I might add more later). You should note that the Lua API allows many more features to be added at thewill of the user, they can also be distributed to others. Interested? The forums can be found here: http://japp.jkhub.org/forum/Want it? Download can be found here: http://japp.jkhub.or...pic.php?f=2&t=3Just extract it into your japlus folder (this is so that it loads on JA+ servers, obviously) MUG and MagSul like this
afi Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Wait so you can play ja++ (clientside) on a ja+ server?
Astral Serpent Posted August 28, 2012 Author Posted August 28, 2012 Wait so you can play ja++ (clientside) on a ja+ server?Yes.When JA++ Serverside is created, it will support JA+ client-side, as well.In addition, JA++ is recognized as the JA+ Client-side plugin so it cangrab information. since slider is evil
MUG Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Aye, once you switch from ja+ there is no going back. Some more features:optional Trueview first person (actually looking through the eyes of your characters and seeing your body if you look down)first person sabersno crashingcustomisable shield damage and duelling shaders (choose effect, rgb and transparency levels)Massively improved chat box. (Scrolling, positionable, text size adjustable, optional time stamps, adjust how log messages stay on screen and more)Console time stampsOptional mini scoreboard to show top players instead of the leader icon.Analogue health, shield and ammo bars that fill up/down rather than the default four blocks that slowly fade outIf for some crazy reason you dont want the super sexy ja++ hud, you can still use the default one.A ton of other stuff I don't remember. Here's how my hud currently looks, after i used ja++ to customise it. I've set it up to be as minimal as possible:The info block I have bottom right usually shows headings, telling you which is which, but I hid them off the side of the screen for a more minimal hud.I've also set the chatbox up so that it never overlaps my character.
Astral Serpent Posted August 28, 2012 Author Posted August 28, 2012 Of course, you can use the default JA hud too, but razhud is customisable via lua, like MUG has done. When I say customisable, I mean moreso than a .menu file in some senses.
