scp_chaos1 Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 I was experimenting with the fx_runner and this question arose: how can I make the fx_runner go in a certain direction? I have read the instructions, but I always went to the opposite side of where I want it to go. The Fx I use is: env / fx_spot.efx, I don't know if it only goes to one side (I hope not). If you know how to help me in this, please publish it.
Ramikad Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Link it (Ctrl + K) to an info_notnull and it will orient itself toward it. scp_chaos1 likes this
scp_chaos1 Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 I had tried yesterday with that, but it didn't work. Still I will try again. In case it works I will let you know.
Lazarus Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Try actually a target_position. and link that. Use the fx_runner as base, and a target_position as its direction with the control +k in mind.
scp_chaos1 Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 What is both true, but it doesn't work in the fx I want to use, I don't know why it doesn't work in the fx: spout I want to use. It works in, for example, fx: waterspray but not in spout. I guess it's the fault of fx itself.
Lazarus Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 You could simply mod the FX to your liking. In EffectsEd you can mod the effect simply. ... if you have the sdk, or radiant ... try searching in Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData\Radiant-1.4\Tools, There should be a map or executable to that program there. I used 1.4. Not sure if it came with 1.5
scp_chaos1 Posted December 7, 2019 Author Posted December 7, 2019 I have both versions, then I'll take a look.
Lwkill Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 have you try to give it a angle key? idk but i think a few effects dont work with info_null or target_position

But all of the above really worked out, only that FX didn't.
