Upcoming Jedi Knight project, need help! (please & thank you)

Hey there,

I have an upcoming video series I wanted to test filming. I wanted to know if anyone in the community know who still films Machinima in JK? Mouth movement and rigging isn't really necessary - I wanted to get cinematic filming of in game in the games.

Link to me Youtube channel for legitimacy http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_FoXwVjRM9qgMvNeh92b0g?view_as=subscriber

Thank you!

Been a Machinima maker for a long time, Dash. Recently started on season two of my most recent series, which you can watch here if you want: https://www.bitchute.com/channel/thewhitephoenix/

Now...if you want to film in JKA for a machinima, be sure to use keybinds for console commands as they are vital. Say you need to noclip to move the camera around during scenes such as watching npcs fight or scenes where the character is "talking", you bind that command to your n key. Say you want to freeze and unfreeze npcs, bind d_npcfreeze 1 to v, d_npcfreeze 0 to b. I also recommend binding commands for meditate, taunt, gloat and flourish if you need those commands as well as the give force command if you want UNLIMITED POWA!!!! I also recommend for keybinds to put undying on so you can take damage, but not die. This in turn makes it seem like your character is in pain. Also, hide the hud with cg_draw2d 0, but be sure to turn it back on incase you need it when not filming. cg_drawhud won't work cause the cursor will still be present, and that takes away from the immersion.

You will also need knowledge in modifying NPC files and Saber files, if you want custom stuff for certain characters. Learning that isn't actually hard at all and is quite easy when you get down to it. There's some tutorials on the hub you can use if you want to be sure. And if you want to get into the nitty and gritty, I suggest you learn how to do skinning or even your own frankensteins. @@Maui Made a tutorial a while back which shows how to use Blender for JKA frankensteins. If you wish to go an extra mile, here's his playlist.

For mods you need, you can use this one by @@Noodle if you want to use certain animations for characters to use that aren't normally accessable: https://jkhub.org/files/file/3280-animations-menu-for-sp-beta/

You will also need a mod that can modify the camera. While KOTF 2.1 has something like that, I'd recommend this (which you can also use with KOTF) since it has more options: https://jkhub.org/files/file/1829-camsp/

AND finally, you will need something like this if you want npcs to remain still or for some other special things you want it to do, I'd recommend using this badass: https://jkhub.org/files/file/3206-singleplayer-runscripts/

Finally, you will also need a capture program like Bandicam that can capture the JKA window. I recommend Bandicam cause if you want to film for a set time (if you play in windowed mode like I do), you can watch how much time has passed since recording and then stop when that time you want to record for is reached. Just a forewarning that the free version only records for 10 minutes and has the bandicam icon on every shot, but that's no big deal since I'm sure you can get the full version. Unless you have a recording program already that is capable, as I'm sure you already do.

Good luck, Dash. :)

Since it's not related to JKHub in any way. :P @@DashStar

Mate, really appreciate it! Do you have discord to just shoot the breeze about this stuff? I actually love it - here's a  project I filmed in 2014 utilizing your aforementioned tricks. Only took me 10 days  :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdjmKBEmnJY&

I had no idea you did Fallout stuff back then, dude. But then again, I never went back that far just yet. And yeah, I have a discord. You might have seen me on the KOTF 2.1 and Movie Duels 2 Remastered Discord. :) Same name as on here, just look for the emblem. I tend to have it wherever I go. ^_^
