I frankensteined this guy together and thought it looked pretty good. I also scaled the robes down a tiny bit. In the soundpack I moved some sounds around and removed the jump/land sounds.

galen_jedi_adv

galen_jedi_adv_hooddown

galen_jedi_adv_mp

on the menu selection:

  • It doesn't show on the menu selection
  • It shows in the menu selection only if I include the outfit pack but then it shows exactly the same as the previous screenshot.

GUYS, I FIGURED OUT WHY, THE OUTFIT PACK ALSO HAS ADVENTURE ROBES THAT ARE NAMED THE SAME THING AS SEVENS MODEL, LIKE INSIDE THE MODEL PK3 THE MODEL IS NAMED GALEN_ADV_ROBE, WELL THE STARKILLER OUTFIT PACK HAS ONE NAMED THE SAME THING, AND THEY CONFLICT WITH EACH OTHER, sorry for the caps, i felt it was important :)

Excellent!!! Thank you very much!

I can just repack the outfit pack without that particular skin or justbremove it as i only downloaded it for the jedi adv., the tie pilot (which doesnt looks as good in jka) and the industrial (which doesn't shows in the selection menu either) skins but still would appreciate the menu support!!!

Would be great if someone reworks the industrial and tie pilot suit too!

;)

Hmmmm...maybe I am confusing the suits, I mean the other suit that looks like a mix of x-wing and tie pilots suit (gray/green)

that is the industrial suit, actually, it just needs its datapad to not float, and the training gear needs to have its armor not clip when attacking

Agh. I got it together but I can't get the hood to show in the hood down head. Like the one that is sitting on his shoulders but not his head. Any ideas?

Thanks for the clarification! The industrial suit also needs SP menu support, at least for me it doesn't shows (along with the dark blue "armor" suit).

I wish I could be of any help but I have no idea. Maybe if you unpack the "outfit pack" and compare with the suit there? It has both options. "Starkiller (Galen Marek) Jedi Adventure Robes 1.00" from RevanKnight and Xeby's "Dark Apprentice" also have versions with and without hood. Maybe reviewing those files can give you an idea?

in the worst case scenario, create separate folder for each version: galen_adv_robe and galen_adv_robe_hood.

Just a thought.

i know there is another adventure robes model by someone else, also sharing the same model folder name, and works similarly to yours, i think it was revanknight that made it, it also uses galen animations :o

I think I got it...

I tried different settings form other models

hood,*off
torso_robe_hoodd,*off
head_robe_hood,*off

but they didn't worked (just changed the face to face without shadow - head_2) until i changed

torso_robe_hoodup,*off

to

torso_robe_hoodup,models\players\galen_adv_robe\hood

But now, it doesn't use the backhand saber and I get female sounds. Don't ask me why. I honestly don't know what I am doing, I just followed some of the examples from the skins I mentioned above. I think the idea is make it use something that doesn't exists. Maybe this helps.

Fixed the sound by adding a sound.cfg with

galen
m

Still don't know why it doesn't use the "backkhand" saber (he just points the lightsaber down).

Works in SP Menu selection but found an issue: In cutscenes, it doesn't shows or shows standing static (like a statue). For example:

  • In the beginning when Rosh tlaks to him in the shuttle, he is standing static and Rosh talks to the empty seat.
  • In the Jedi Temple scenes he is supposed to be seating, he is still standing

Works in SP Menu selection but found 2 issues

- When you select hood down version, the hood is removed but still shows the face like he has the hood up (with the shadows around the face)

- In cutscenes, it doesn't shows or shows standing static (like a statue). For example:

  • In the beginning when Rosh tlaks to him in the shuttle, he is standing static and Rosh talks to the empty seat.
  • In the Jedi Temple scenes he is supposed to be seating, he is still standing.

I'll have a look tonight. The sp menu was weird for this guy so you have to select the torso and head for hooddown and vice versa. I'll see if I can fix it later.

Yeah, figured out the head issue. No worries about that one.

Thanks for keeping improving the model. If the "behavior" can be fixed so he interacts with the rest of the characters/scenes, that will be awesome! Galen is one of my favorites SW characters. I don't like the TFU games very much (hate those games where all you do is jumping and falling), but I like the story.

i know why the issue is happening: the model is using its own custom anims, and it makes it not listen to the cutscene anims, which are the anims for the stuff jaden does during cutscenes, but since the model only listens to its custom anim file, it'll do random stuff like stand still during cutscenes, the only way to fix it is use the normal anim version, then use the playermodel command to switch to the custom anim model

I think I may be able to fix it in the animtion config file

Thanks a lot swagmaster and Seven! I wish I had your patience and talent!

:)

Erm, this is actually a bit above what I'm capable of. I have just about 0 experience with animations, so the cutscenes will have to use the normal animations version.

yeah, thats what i do when using my galen model's custom anims, use the normal anim version with g_char_model "<model name, not the npc name, the actual name of the model folder>", then do the others like g_char_skin_head, g_char_skin_torso, and g_char_skin_legs, which you put a name like head_a1

to use the custom anim version in sp while having non-f'd up anims in sp, set your main playermodel in the char menu to the normal anim version, then in-game, use playermodel galen_jedi_adv, or galen_jedi_adv_hooddown for the no hood version

LOL. I have 0 experience with modding so you are light years ahead of me. I just started experimenting with the Galen Outfit Pack and got the Industrial and "Armor" suits to show in the menu selection but the "Armor" and the "Clone" suits have texture problems (the lower torso skins don't seem to match the model) so I stopped there.

:(

Anyway, thanks a lot for this model.

You gave me an idea...since this model (Thanks Seven) now works with "the outfit pack", I tested using the version form the pack to start the game, then switched models. I  can play with this model and have a similar one from "the pack" in the cutscenes (too bad the skins from "the pack" don't open their mouths). Hope seven can fix the animations so I can use this model all the way. :D

Update

arrgg...This model doesn't like the Security Doors either. I got the security key but the icon ("hand") to activate the door doesn't activates, have to switch models to get it to show, then switch back.

:(

Here are the problems I've found so far:

- Doesn't interacts very well with Security Locks (unlock icon doesn't shows, have to switch models then switch back).

- In SP: if I save the game while using the model, then quit the game, start it back and load it where I left, the game crashes. If I switch to another model before saving, it loads fine.

- In MP (I don't play MP but tired a solo game to test it): I can select the model from the icons on the main screen but if I select it through the "Custom character" menu, it gives me an error about missing bones and takes me to the Kyle model instead.
