Not as hard as it was the first time I tried to learn it years ago. All the stuff I've picked up from JKA and Skyrim modding regarding models and how they work helped lower the learning curve immensely.

Have you used blender to animate? Do you know if it's too different? I'd be nice to see some of your work when you release it!
