  1.  Hi, I converted this Star Wars Battlefront (2004) map to MD3: https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/795/images/116385_3.jpg

at the moment this is the result (it haven't textures) : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5i8RkaXdKiLRmFqd2Nkajh1aDA/view?usp=sharing

My project is port this map to Jedi Academy

I have two questions: How import this to GTKradiant 1.4? Do you think that is possible port a battlefront map?

No matter how great a map looks, even if it's the best looking map of all time, it still depends on the mapper, not on the demand of others.

To understand that, you have to experience how it is to create such a map or similar advanced modding projects.

The only way to find out what happened to the map is to ask Sith-J-Cull (aka @JCulley3D) himself. However, he hasn't been on this site for a while. As far as I know, he's very busy concentrating on his

own professional work rather than mapping. And with a job like Sith-J has, there is little room to work on maps like this one.

Well, you are right,  all depends of Sith-J-Cull, not me, i hope that he return making Jedi Academy maps, because he make very good maps.If I knew how, I would make maps myself.

Looks so good ,i'm my opinion in revenge of the sith Obi Wan looks more older and with more beard than attack of the clones ,that's why it looks the episode 3 Obi Wan with long hair , this is just my opinion, i  can send you this texture directly ported from Battlefront 2 Obi Wan, if you want of course , is your project .I just wan't to help you to make it more acurate possible. :winkthumb:

OMG, do you will release it? finally we have a good and acurate Han Solo model , in the Seven's WIP I posted a reskin of his TFU ported Han Solo but this one is better so far, regarding Leia i like the Hapslash model but this one is awesome too, keep it up with this amazing work

  5. Ok so Han has come very far from the start, and is working pretty well. There is some weighting I want to fix and more outfits I'd like to add before a formal release, but for now here's a "beta" of the Han to come. http://www.mediafire.com/download/uqh488sawhhaq0x/han.zip

Hi seven , i reskined your Han Solo model to make it more close to Harrison ford, using a photo, what do you think? i will not  upload it .

How about you make a new topic, but in the WIP section this time? I mean, the whole topic didn't start with an idea or a request,

but with a reskin of yours. And because you posted several pictures of your progress, it would be more appropiate for a WIP topic.

Maybe @@eezstreet can move this topic?

Yeah i,m new in this forum and i posted this topic in the first section i saw , i will try to ,move it in the WIP section

  7. Sorry for the lat answer. I think there are no stupid questions...the only stupid question is the one you don't ask because you will never know the answer. A friend of mine also says (and I tend to believe him) there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers...

I haven't found a full tutorial covering all the aspects of porting an OBJ to a fully functional JA md3 file. A good friend gave me a lesson of how to port some specific parts. It involves assigning the mesh from the obj to the JA model, scaling the new mesh to the appropriate size, assigning vertex groups, weight the vertex group and weight the vertex. Assign skin modifiers and most of the time splitting up the mesh (a single mesh shouldn't have more than 1,000 verts).

The process should be the same for all meshes so I tried porting a full model but this was the result...

For me the hardest part is the weight process. I can't get the correct weights. I would like to see a weight tutorial for dummies specifically designed for JA models.

    :(

If you happen to find one, please let me know.

well nobody said that program a video game is easy, if i find a good and detailed tutorial i will tell you :winkthumb: ,as to my 2003 general Kenobi i will try to port it  but if i fail it I will look for another way to make it. I gived up in the development of a Battlefront 2 map , i dont give up on this.

  8. Looking good so far. Neck looks too long because the suit has a high collar. You might need to move the head down to normal neck height.

Thanks i tried it and looks better now, a question , this is more than a reskin, is a new model, so have this site a tutorial of how convert an obj model in a functional

Jedi Academy playable character? i tried it and  the model trasform in  Kyle Katarn in game
