So, I've tried using Blender, and I couldn't figure out how to do anything. I tried opening up the model glm whatever the hell it is, to no avail.

Since I have no idea what the hell that means.
Triangles are represented by "dots" (vertices is the term) in 3d space, each vertex has a position (x,y,z,-x,-y,-z). Vertices connect to each other with edges to form a flat surface = the mighty triangle!
