  1. 1) How would the shield around the Death Star be disabled? A timer perhaps? 2) The goal of any defending team is to slow down the offensive team, so i don't see too much of a problem there. If it comes out that the rebels always win too easily, you can always cut down the time. 3) Yes, it would be quite big, just watch it doesn't get too big, although siege_destroyer was pretty big, too. 4) As for destroying the rebel/imperial ships, how would that work? Would you just have to repeatedly fire on the ships until they go boom? Or would it be like siege_destroyer/batllefront and have to take out multiple little parts of the ship to destroy it? A few defensive turrets would help as well on both sides. 5) Would it be linear or non-linear. If linear, how would you have the spawns move each time? If non-linear, the spawns would have be roughly in the center of all the objectives so as not to make some too far away to reach effectively. All in all, sounds real cool. We do need more space/vehicle siege maps in my opinion. Best of luck!

  3. I actually scored this time. Hopefully by next time I'll actually contribute to the team instead of just being a general obstruction. Quite a fun little mod.

  5. I'm gonna be totally blasphemous and say I've never played the game. Regardless, your map looks to be coming out pretty neat so far.

  7. Apparently there's a huge number of people with nothing better to do but just be general dicks to get their kicks. Gaming isn't the only place it occurs, sadly.
  8. Also, a key thing with easter eggs is to have them not severely impact the gameplay of the map as well. Audio files and on-screen text quotes are good fr this, though the latter is minorly intrusive.
  9. If you made it into a siege map, I know you can do target_siege_end. Simply trigger it using the map instead of the .siege file and it shouldn't mess with the timer. However, it'd loose the ability of people being able to use their own skin for it. And that might suck.

  11. Trust me, they will be spammed. Three does a hell of a job, too. Again, just my 2 cents. Feel free to include them.

Maybe not the last part, but time shall tell. =D Then again, is this with or without assholes who just spam mines everywhere and kill the entire team in 2 seconds because they lack the skill to make legit kills? On that note, I'd advise either not putting in triip mines, or drastically lower the firing rate of the secondary fire. It is abused whether it's banned or not.
  13. Depending on what it is, I'll sketch out a rough layout, then work off of that, sometimes/mostly deviating at least a little bit. Other times, I get the idea of what I want and start working, usually when it's just an overall idea I'm working for instead of a particular layout. My flying fortress map was the former. My zombie tunnel map is the latter.
  14. For the next one, I'm gonna MS paint my copy of Caelum's skin neon red/blue. I kinda knew you were/weren't on my team, but you really didn't visually fit with the rest of your team. Just my 2 cents.
  15. I know the one time I was there it was a bunch of old european siegers looking for a PUG game. I'm not sure if it's set up for base siege normally now or what. Both Tempest and Teacup are populated by bots when nobody's on. Teacup has been modded by a guy who made it how he thinks siege should be done, but not many people go there. The bots on tempest are currently being experimented with so that they'll have an AI and actually complete objectives and such so they won't be totally useless. I don't know the progress level of that, but it's still normal bots right now.

  18. Was looking forwards to this. I got a copy of the 'teaser' release a while ago, and it was pretty cool.
  19. Only two real servers left for normal siege. We've got the American server Tempest. There's also a European (Germany?) server named Deranged Corsairs run by....I can't remember at the moment. Both are populated every so often. I'm not sure about Corsairs, but Tempest activity usually picks up during Summer and late December to early-ish January. Weekends usually aren't too bad, either. And by 'pick up', I mean you can sometimes get up to 10-12 people on the server at a time.
