These names aren't very common. At least I met some of these names only on a few occasions. Kyle Katarn isn't purely Star Wars name either (Kyle is in Terminator for instance). It's just that some names sound better and closer to fantasy story, than others. Armitage doesn't sound that good like Wilhuf Tarkin. However Episode IV had a few characters very much with Earth-like names too, including the Imperials in the Death Star round room.

I know that. Luc Besson is a famous person, and his is also Luke in some ways I were saying, that some names sound better and closer to fantasy stories, than others. Luke is probably one of those, because John, Jack and Jake aren't the names that I hear here and there all the time, but I know, that they are widespread both in real life and literature.
