Kyle Katarn is like the Chuck Norris of StarWars; overpraised character who assumably survives everything. Luke Skywalker is his Bruce Lee; he would rip Kyle's chesthair and kill him, cover his corpse with a jacket and walk away.

I think Luke would best Kyle. They would not go to a duel of the death, but if Kyle lost control, it would be a pretty close match, but the edge belongs to Skywalker because of how powerful he is in the force. Luke chooses not to use the dark side, but he certainly can and would over power Katarn.
