So what is JA++ exactly?

I'm surprised there's no stickies in this forum.

 

All I can surmise is that it's an improvement of JA+ that is recommended to be used for making your own mods... what are the changes/additions? It's open-source right? As in you're free to make code mods based off it, whereas JA+ was closed source I think?

It's technically not an improvement over ja+ but has most compatibility options with it as best as it can.

Nope, new mod but with options to mimic JA+ for sake of community.

So, yes, kinda like a remake. Not quite interchangeable though.

It's interchangeable so far as JA+ clients can play on JA++ servers and JA++ clients can play on JA+ servers, but you can't use JA+ client with JA++ client.
