Rowsdower Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Hey! I downloaded this map recently for Jedi Academy https://jkhub.org/files/file/325-ffa-carbon-freeze/ and even though it's predominately an Outcast map, I'd wanna play it on Academy but there's no textures, just gray blobs everywhere. Can someone lend a hand? Much appreciated. -Rowsdower
ensiform Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Did you check the console for errors? Are you using OpenJK? Have you tried a clean install besides that map? Maybe it uses textures which are only in jko?
Rowsdower Posted May 4, 2016 Author Posted May 4, 2016 I had this issue before. I'm not using OpenJK, back when this map was on Filefront, the author had a patch or something in the comments that restored it.

Locate assets0.pk3 in the Jedi Outcast base folder. It contains the shaders and textures you need.2. Copy it to the desktop.3. Rename it to 0_assets0.pk3.4. Now put the pk3-file into the base folder of Jedi Academy. Not a necessary step, but if you want to save disc space, do this:5. If you know how to open and modify a pk3, open 0_assets0.pk3 and delete every folder except shaders and textures.
ensiform Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 I wouldn't do that but okay And its also not very proper or "legal"
Cerez Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 I wouldn't do that but okay And its also not very proper or "legal" It's safe as long as you name the new PK3 to be alphabetically before the assets0-3 PK3s. That way the JKA assets will overwrite any JKO assets if here is a conflict.
Cerez Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 What if I don't have Outcast? Hahaha! That is tricky. XD Then I give you an alternative (albeit a smaller map). Rowsdower likes this
