Lagging GTK Radiant 1.5

Recommended Posts

Hi, like one week ago my GTK Radiant started lagging really bad. I can't really move the camera anymore or do anything else.

I never had any issues before, it literally started from one day to the other.

Anyone knows what may cause that problem?

I've got Windows 7 and 6 GB ram. I don't have problems with any games or anything else on my computer.

no idea about the cause, but to temporarily treat the symptoms, try enabling "cubic clip the camera"

More than likely (from my experience, your graphic card drivers are ballsed up.)

In light of this...my advice is...get 1.4.0.

Sorry old habit. :D

Try reinstalling or rolling back to previous driver version!

But I didn't update the driver since I've installed the GTK. :/ That means it actually used to work with that driver

i got kinda the same problem some times it's lags and other times it doesn't

i've gotten the lag to mostly go away by just loading my map and

leave my pc untouched for a few moments

I only get lag on maps like Szico's midgar, im using an early build of 1.5, I kept the installer for this one as well, I can upload it if anyone wants it

GTKradient 1.5.0 2006 build:

I personally havent had an issue with this specific build for the past 6 years, and thats going from single core pc, to a Dual, and now an 8 core machine

im not entirely sure on this one, have you tried the jedi-radient? the 3rd party newer radient?

There's a Jedi radiant?

1.6.2 is out but you'd need the special version for JK3, i believe mrwonko packaged up a jk3 installer/instructions. Least, that's what i remember using.

i think i may have a solution to help get rid of most of the lag for nvidia cards

1. go to the nvidia control panel and click manage 3d settings

2. go to the program settings (or something like that) tab and click add

3. browse to your GtkRadiant.exe and hit open/add

4. select "nvidia processor with high performance" in the drop down menu

5. config everything to performance and or your liking ( set all anti-aliasing to ether off or program controlled or it will make the grid really blurry )

6. there should be something about power management set it to "prefer maximum performance"

this got rid of almost all the lag for me, so i hope this will help you too

if you need screenshots just tell me and i'll see what i can do ;)

I actually managed to make it work again, but I don't know how... Suddenly it worked again after a couple of new installs

But thanks for all the replys
