wierd Steam overlay glitch

I recently noticed a wierd issue with the steam overlay :

basically everytime my steam overlay pops up in OJK everything becomes highly contrasted, darkened, glowy/bloomy and partly desaturated

it just looks VERY strange

 

I've tried to screenshot it but without success so far

That sounds like what happens when your color depth is changed for the game. If you Alt+Tab out of the game is your whole desktop that color as well? If so, Steam Overlay is affected by that while you're ingame.

Report the bug to steam.

Its buggy, the in game overlay, ever since they updated it. I have issues gettinf it to show up or load properly in several games.

it works fine in all games , even in base JA but OJK freaks out whenever I run it via steam and the steam overlay pops up , I'll probably record my screen with a camera as I can't screenshot it

It has nothing to do with OpenJK though.  The Steam Overlay controls hooking entirely to whatever program you tell it to.
