Jango40 Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 That's all - When I try to play OpenJK it crashes with this, no other errors. When I open Openjk_sp I can go kind of further, it doesn't crash until I try to start a new SP game.
Omicron Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Do you honestly expect an answer with the amount of information you provided?
Jango40 Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 Do you honestly expect an answer with the amount of information you provided?Well, there's no other info I can provide. It's what happens. Tried clean install. As I said many times before, Windows 8 64-bit.
ensiform Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 You haven't provided ANY information. Chances are for SP at least, you didn't install it correctly as such the newer jagamex86.dll must be in base (Copied from OpenJK mod folder if it isn't already) or load with +set fs_game OpenJK Omicron likes this
Jango40 Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 You haven't provided ANY information.WHAT INFORMATION AM I SUPPOSED TO PROVIDE THEN?!
ensiform Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Don't expect any help without at least attempting to get debug version which provides details ._.
Jango40 Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 Don't expect any help without at least attempting to get debug version which provides details ._.what is the debug version? what is a debug?
ensiform Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 A version that contains debugging symbols useful for detecting why crashes happen etc, but contains no optimizations and file sizes are much larger. You should probably head over to the IRC channel and ask for some assistance getting a "debug" version. I'm not going to be available for most of the rest of the day.
Xycaleth Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 @@Jango40 How do you run OpenJK SP? Do you double-click the openjk_sp.x86.exe program or do you use a shortcut?
Jango40 Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 @@Jango40 How do you run OpenJK SP? Do you double-click the openjk_sp.x86.exe program or do you use a shortcut?Tried both, same thing.
Xycaleth Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Try this. Copy and paste following text into a file called "run_openjk.bat" and save it in the same folder as openjk_sp.x86.exe. openjk_sp.x86.exe +set fs_game OpenJKThen double-click the file you just saved.
Jango40 Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 Tried that, same thing still happens.. but I see that openjk opens multiple times, no matter which way I open it with. I also can't close them, access is denied..
Xycaleth Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Interesting. Assuming you downloaded OpenJK from here, do you have the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable installed?
Jango40 Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 Interesting. Assuming you downloaded OpenJK from here, do you have the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable installed?Yep, I do. Repaired just for sure, nothing changed.
Jango40 Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 Same -- I'll drop by and ask for the debug version sometime.
redsaurus Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 try doing /logfile 1 in SP before loading the map, then look at the qconsole.log it creates.
Jango40 Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 try doing /logfile 1 in SP before loading the map, then look at the qconsole.log it creates.Did that, the file came out completely empty. Also, I downloaded Process Hacker and found out something:Apparently the processes are trying to quit, but unable to do so. Wth is happening?
Xycaleth Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Try /logfile 2 instead. This should write to the log file as each message gets generated, instead of when the program quits (which never happens, as you end up crashing out instead). The fact that you can't kill the program either is kind of strange! Can you try opening Process Hacker as an administrator and then kill it?

Jango40 Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 Great, my computer is screwed up now. Every time I tried to start this, a new invincible process started. Now there's 8 of them, and they don't terminate when I shut the computer down and unplug it from all power sources. Fuck.
Xycaleth Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 JA: v1.0.1.0 win-x86 Oct 24 2003It looks like you're running jasp.exe with the OpenJK SP mod? How long ago did you download OpenJK? If you can't restart your computer using the normal means, you should use the reset button on your PC case. Jango40 likes this
Jango40 Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 .. Does restarting do more than shutting down your computer? Because all the OpenJK processes ended, and now I CAN RUN IT. Shutting it down didn't work, but restarting did. The hell.
Xycaleth Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 Oh, well there you go lol. I don't know what happened with the OpenJK processes, I've never seen that happen before. I don't think restarting your computer does anything much different from shutting down, unless you physically push the reset button on your case Jango40 and Caelum like this
