Boothand Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 I'm done with my horse model, and the only thing remaining is to find out what's behind this issue. When turning around, the back of the horse receives light and shades as it should, however the front remains unaffected in all circumstances, and appears very flat shaded. This is unfortunate for the face part especially, since it has a lot of unison color-ish. Kyle and other models get light as they should. Doesn't seem to be about shaders. Any ideas?
Boothand Posted April 14, 2014 Author Posted April 14, 2014 Can you post a pic please? I have submitted the model here, so soon when it's approved you could try, although I don't think it's a "bug".
mrwonko Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 I would imagine that to be in some way related to normals, though I can't tell how exactly. Maybe they're facing the wrong direction and the material is two-sided?
Boothand Posted April 15, 2014 Author Posted April 15, 2014 Haven't used a two-sided material, and normals look fine in 3DS Max. I don't think the exporter would export a two-sided material in any case. The model also looks proper in ModView of course. Tempust85 Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 Rofl, I only just watched American dad where Stan is a horse. This model is ridiculous, but in a good way. Boothand and Circa like this
