therfiles Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Just wondering if there is any one who does any cool VFX stuff. I recently bought Final Cut Studio 2 (outdated, but much cheaper) and it's so awesome. What are you guys using, especially for more intense compositing work? I know after effects is the program of choice, but Motion is doing a great job, too.
Circa Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 I use Final Cut Pro X. Some great stuff, but I don't really work with heavy effects at all. Just simple things. therfiles likes this .!¡!.
Botdra Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Final Cut Pro X here. Was never big into effects until lately, but now I've been adding more and more to my stuff. Fun to mess with things, effects can give just a SLIGHT little polish and edge to what you're doing, or be crazy and unique too. Circa likes this

I'm familiar with chroma keying and greenscreen from the 2 years I spent interning in a TV studio, more recently I have started trying my hand at special effects for indie movies, though I work in After Effects. Futuza Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 If only I could afford the entire Adobe Suite... therfiles and Circa like this
CaptainCrazy Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I mainly work with After Effects, Sony Vegas Pro and HitFilm but HitFilm is pretty demanding due to the particle systems lol.
Mert-K Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Adobe After Effects, Sony Vegas, and such programs. I used to work with Windows Movie Maker. These were the dark days.
