  1. A sequel to the JK series will never happen, for 2 reasons:

     

    1. Raven Studios, the ones who were in charge of the series, no longer exists.

     

    2. LucusArts doesn't see a reason to make a sequel.

     

    Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but I suspect that the page is not entirely correct. Also Jedi Academy is JK3. It's the third in the JK series, and it has been for quite awhile.

     

    1. Raven Studios only had rights to the Star Wars mark till 2004, that's why they released JKA even though it was not completed. Raven studios have nothing to do with it, they don't have to be developers of every game from  Jedi Knight. (Eg. Heroes of might and magic, 3 or 4 different studios worked on it?)

     

    2. Well... This argument is nothing until you can show us some proof, and as we all know Lucas Arts generally don't care about  e-mails they receive, so I doubt you will show us any.

     

    and yeah, I was going with same stuff as you... But show me one official info where Jedi Academy is reffered as JK3, you will not find such info : In game, in the guide book added to the original CD from 2003, nor on its box.

    Just because it was released after Outcast don't make it next part. 

    Another Eg. The Elder Scrolls 3 : Morrowind is actually fifth game of the Elder Scrolls Series. (Just in case you are unfamiliar with that title, that makes Skyrim TESVII) But Redguard and Battlespire, were not officaly named TESIII, so Morrowind took this title.

    Since you don't understand Polish, you'll have to believe that I translated it correct, or try to copy it into google translator.

    On this site, in september 2011 was posted that LucasFilm is recruiting to three games : First Person Shooter , Flying action something, (don't know how to translate powietrzna gra akcji Star Wars Starfighter is from this genre) , and Action-Adventure. 

    It was almost two years ago, so FPS is most probably SW 1313, Flying Action MAY  be this whole SW First Assault, and Action-Adventure MAY be JK3.

     

    Not any proof but, its another piece of puzzle. These may refer to completely different titles of course.

     

    @@minilogoguy18 Of course there is a great possibility that IF this game will be released, it will be screwed badly and have some stupid engine that will make it almost impossible to mod. But lets hope for the best.

    This anonymous piece of paper is actually copywirted, and it was posted  on the internet in 2010 showing an actual of the E3 2010.

    Where's Star Wars 1313?

     

    There was no plan for SW1313 back then

     

     

     

    Saw this a few years ago. Nothing came of it then so I don't think anything will now.

    So you actually have seen this, before ANY of this games was released, 90% of them IS  released already. (my mistake wrote was for the first time)

     

     

    Whats more, you guys have to remember that no one in the whole world knows what Jedi Knight is, so there is really no reason for such a site to add it and post pseudo photo, since only 0,001 % of players would even notice  anything strange about it.

    Remember there are also other games that have appeared not only SW. 

    And like SiLink just said, he saw it few years ago. So it was not forged after releasing of this games.

     

    Since JK3 is in queue right after The Old Republic,  which is pretty new for a game, na Lucas have nothing to do except SW 1313 i really do believe they may be working on this game.

     

    Feel free to disagree with me anytime, the more points we have, the closer we are to the truth :) Maybe you will convince me this is nothing, but for now, I am relly sure of my point, and will try to convince you. Cheers :)

    Like you can make out here. There are : 

     

    - Lego Star Wars - The Clone Wars - finished
    - Star Wars The Force Unleashed - finished
    - Star Wars The Old Republic - finished
    - Star Wars Jedi Knight III
    - Star Wars Battlefront III - canceled.
     
    As you can see this is the exact order these games have been released. So it seems it's time for JK3 to be released soon. 
    If you read really carefully you'll notice that nowhere in the whole game it is said that Jedi Academy was named Jedi Khight III . And well, this piece of paper proves that Jedi academy was more like standalone  addon, than the actual game. Looks pretty reliable to me.
     
    Well to be honest RS'Grab has convinced me to this point of view... But what with you guys? What are your thoughts on it?

    Oh yeah, most probably we will be forced to play as Kyle Katarn once again, since he is the lead character of the whole series, and plot focuses mainly on his adventures.

    While I do agree, that "fixing" is a wrong term. Something that doesn't really exist can't be broken, I have to disagree its just a leftover.

    Anyways, you are probalby right that improving graphics would be enough for almost everyone, but if we are dreaming (creating new models and making them all compatible + everything else would require too much effort for any team to make)  we can always dream about more eh? :)
     
     
    I am novice when it comes to C, but I don't think you can add slope to Disruptor which is traceent.

  6. This is NOT a Teaser, this is NOT a project it will NEVER be done.

     

    This is just my thoughts, very old thoughts, on making this game more interesting, nice, good looking etc.

     

    Well, I think I'll start with the gameplay :,

    generally I really do like its vanilla gameplay but it could use some improvements.

    1) For example I think that weapon shooting is a little bit boring, adding more dispersion to the guns, not just some random values but depending on player state, should do just fine. For eg.

    angs[PITCH] += blah blah

    elseif playerstate == run

    Of course this code is entirely wrong, but I guess it shows what I have in thought. 

     

    2) I do not have any objections to to saber fighting system, but maybe fixing some of the special features like ground stab or saber locking, would make them actually worthwhile and they won't be a mere annoyance when enabled (well only one of them can be disabled)

    Also fixing force requiring moves like pull stab, slashing would be good in siege mode (any in siege mode only)

     

    3) Fixing votes so hackers can't access server files  and than finishing the development of team votes which were supposed to be implemented.

     

    4) Fixing in game award system, 

     

    5) Making animals work in multiplayer (yay, that's a part of my old JAE project. Well I plan on fixing howler with my friend, when I will finally learn C language). Adding them full AI support for their animations (like rancor's attack against high targets, which would finally make rancor any threat)

     

    6) General fixing, adding features and fixmes, that are in code and they seem possible , have sense.  For eg. there is a comment that shows that unlimited staff chain is only temporary, but changing this, and thinking of new chain limit, would just discourage players to use it, On the other hand lots of other changes mentioned in code, would be a nice addition to our game. This of course would require a skilled crew, eezstreet maybe? Don't really remember that much coders. 

     

    Graphics and immersion :

     

    1) When it comes to the graphics, shadows need a little bit fixing, don't know if its possible though. cg_shadows 2 looks really nice, but they are often created on player in very unnatural way, that makes it look extra weird  cg_shadows 3 on the other hand , are way to dark, and act like static, shadow can just flow in air.

     

    2) Retexturing the game... Not really. While new textures are sufficient for player models, I use JulioC's characters (except of jawas), just textures don't really cut it when it comes to general look. Using Graphics overhaul, and Better graphics combined, can give you great textures and amazing look, but its still squarish and there is a contrast between quality of textures and 

     

    3) models. Yeah, what this game needs is a general reworking of models for objects and litter, bottles, cards, chairs , that kind of stuff.They'd have to be a high quality like Szico's or Inyri's. Right use of glass effects , and shine, reflections is crucial.

     

    4) General map improvement, maybe adding some new maps, to each gametype. At least one per type. 

     

    5) Using better sound really makes you feel a lot nicer. I have made one mod, Rancor's Sound overhaul I think , for sure it starts with Rancor's and have sounds in name, it really makes you feel way better playing the game, also changing sounds text file to make some of them audible in wider spread worked just fine. Hearing waterfall before you see it is good. This mod is NOT download able, as I have used sounds from Oblivion, Left 4 Dead, and some from internet, WITHOUT permission of original owners, therefore I have no right to upload it anywhere.It's just for my use, sorry.

     

     

    That's all I can remember for now, but I sure have more ideas how to improve the game, which I will post somewhere here. Doing something that big would require a lot f skilled modders, (which are actually reading it), and I repeat, I have NO intention of making such a thing. It's just an idea box for you guys.

  7. Hi, well most of you probably already know me so I don't need to introduce that much. 

    What you may know, or may not know is that I spent a lot of my time reviewing maps in the past, and some may have realized, that I'm back to it : reviewing every new map I see uploaded on this site.

     

    Generally I would like to ask you to rise amount of stars, 1-5 scale is much inaccurate. In my reviews I always use 1-10 scale (with halves sometimes). So if you would add 5 more stars, or a possibility to add half a star, it would be great.

    Why does is matter?

    Well if I have to give my rating to the map, average but good map, get the same amount of stars as almost perfect one, pretty dull isn't it?

     

    The second improvement is more like an idea, it may be good idea to add option, do uploader agrees to have his file reviewed. This way I will sadly have less maps to check out, but won't write lenghy to do lists for someone who doesn't care about what I think should be improved or isn't really good enough.

    But its true people here are being too hostile sometimes. I was kinda dissapointed to JKG but not because of its aspects. It was because player assistance. I joined serwer after the first release. But all my questions were ignored by staff member, if he had answered, I wold realise its not installed properly, and I wold probably play it.

  10. There actually is a command for toggling huds, you can find it in articles on my site www.jediacademy.cba.pl artykuły - komendy -> lista komend jk3.

    Writing from phone so can't link directly.

    The only problem is to figure out how to name your hud so ingame cmd finds it.

  11. I can't make radiant work on my pc (win 7) so I cant edit bsp files, as far as I know at least.

    Spawn entity command has incredible potential, and with additon of little scrypting you can do just any scenario come true.

    Npc spawn id name would get useless too, cos there are a lot of entity npc's spawning them. Using spawn ent, allows you to program unique behavior for every one of them.

  12. Hi, lets just treat this as a modding question.

     

    I spend ages playing with JKA, JKA mods , JKA coding (this is actually fun to read even if you don't know C language) but some things i have never figured out ad they always bugged me.

     

    This was to be my best achievement ever, but I just can't make this out! Its forth, maybe fiftht time when I try and try and I fail.

     

     

    Does any of you know how to add spawn flags in game?

     

    (Don't know what I mean? Here's an explanation)

    there are a lot of spawns defined, they all have flags that use their full (or partial if you want) potential

    For eg. we will use a camera :

     

     

    /*QUAKED misc_camera (0 0 1) (-8 -8 -12) (8 8 16) VULNERABLE

    A model in the world that can be used by the player to look through it's viewpoint

     

    There will be a video overlay instead of the regular HUD and the FOV will be wider

     

    VULNERABLE - allow camera to be destroyed

     

    "target" - camera will remain pointed at this entity (if it's a train or some other moving object, it will keep following it)

    "target2" - when player is in this camera and hits the use button, it will cycle to this next camera (if no target2, returns to normal view )

    "target3" - thing to use when player enters this camera view

    "target4" - thing to use when player leaves this camera view

    "closetarget" - (sigh...) yet another target, fired this when it's destroyed

    "wait" - how long to wait between being used (default 0.5)

    As you can see there is only one Vulnerable flag. and only 6 minor options, all of them you can (probably) easily add using GTK radiant.

     

    But how to add flags, of specified options using spawn command?

    I tried many many way but I always get no such spawn function or just default set entity.

     

    PLEASE HELP!

  13. T-This... THIS IS BIZZARE!

    I don't know what is going on. I tried to apply it to my guardian sab (three files 0 1 2) as first sab i found. Then it crashed my JKA with trailStyle. But I changed saber names and it worked. Well JKA at leas, cos trailStyle didn't.

    But then I noticed it ignores all my new anims (yes they actually work) deleted trailStyle line form ONE of the sabers. It crashed my JKA again -,- .

     

    ITs sleep time, but I;m going to think of something tomorrow. I was sure I used this before and it worked... In Realistic tusken staff if I remember right.

    So please wait till tomorrow I will came up with something.

  14. Is that really necessary?

    EVERY Moder / maper / skiner / modelist etc. (well at least most of them) ALWAYS write in read me file how to install his mod, no matter how simple it is.

    I don't imagine searching for that on youtube. I know that many people don't read read me files, but well that's their fault it that case.

    Been testing mods back in... hmm 2005 I think. Don't remember exactly, and I made few myself (and not finished over a dozen) so I'm pretty demanding when it comes to mods, and can rate both game play and technical side

  16. Some things are working right now, but we still don't have money and duel system, which are very important. Sadly we have to wait for our computer scientist, until he starts his work again, we can't do anything but wait. :(

    Like I said I hope we will start soon, If he did't stop we would start at 1 September, so lets say we need 3 weeks after he comes back to start simple version of the league.

     

    And yes, it was supposed to be sign. Nobody noticed this yet ^^.

  17. Nope, its not a mod. Its just a good use of connecting site programming and gaming.

    Because its not a mod I don't have to provide servers, but league has its official public server (I posted its ad already) and two 8 slot minor servers for league matches (this will be bought when League is ready for start. Pretty soon - I hope).

    First off : I have no idea when will we start! Writing all this systems takes a LONG time, and on top of all that, person who was doing the scripting is out of reach right now.

     

    So what's so "awesome" in this "official" League?

    There are some explanations :

     

    Credits :

     

    My credits :

    There you can check how much credits [or other currency (this are very remote plans) ] you got, send them to other player, or check your last incomes and looses.

    (You may earn credits in several ways, none of them requires paying)

     

    Place a bet :

    Yeah! There you can place a bet on any upcoming league match, and so win or lose credits, I think every one knows how betting works :)

    Very important : Never bet after begging of the match, this will result in loosing money, when it happens to often player will be not allowed to bet.

     

    Exchange Credits :

    And there you may turn your site credits into lugormod ones! [or other currency (this are very remote plans)]

     

    Wealthiest Players :

    Check 100 most wealthy players, and how much do you need to become #1!

     

    Generic Events :

     

    Newest Event :

    Check what happened to your money every four hours, this is a free way to earn credits, or loose some. At the beginning every player have 50% to earn and 50 % lose, so starting may be tough, but later you can...

     

    Own Property :

    Paying certain amount of credits you may buy a new property, giving you new events, each of them will have visible percentage rates, so you won't have to worry about wasting your money at wrong planet. Although you alwasy win or loose on standard events, you may get nothing from properites. For example Blenjeel is cheap, but got big chances of getting nothing, or loosing big money (It has one of most profitable events though) , and Bandomeer will give you almost constant but little profit. All depends on your playing style and luck. There is a limit of 15 properties, (you can sell them to admin, we don't know if it will be good idea to allow you to sell them to other players), and every 5th property gives you additional event at the same time. That means if you have 4 properties, you still get one event at a time, but having 15 of them, gives you 4 events with every check!

     

    Propose Event :

    That means : you support our community - community supports you, We will give you credits for every event proposition, spamming with stupid / useless or copied events will result in punishment (for example losing credits).

     

    Duels :

     

    Jedi Duels :

    This is similar to ESL league, but you fight for money, you challenge someone and place certain amount of credits, if challenge is accepted other person loose same amount of money. Duel winner gets all the money.

     

    Mercenary duels :

    Exactly the same, just you choose to fight using weapons (you have to choose which weapon do you want to fight, and enemy chooses his)

     

    Current Leaders :

    See top 20 Melee , Saber and Mercenary Duelers (you may challenge them form there)

     

    Achievements :

     

    I guess this part is clear, your single player than multiplayer achievements. You earn credits for every one of them.

    How to post achievements will be described on site. And the last one is just a table with top players that made most achievements.

     

    League :

     

    League :

    Info about the league and who will fight whom next.

     

    Sign your clan in :

    Redirects you to the forum apply topic

     

    Match table :

    Whole table with wins, loses , and amount of plaid matches.

     

    Watch archival :

    Most of the matches will be live streamed, but you will only get to see the archival ones (with commentary) to prevent lags.

     

     

    And there is also an empty space, witch will contain our most interesing feature, but I' keeping it a secret for now :)

    Because im sure nobody will read this there is a short version : I'm skilled in NPC and sab files. Also in console commands, gonna help this site.

     

    Most of you probably never heard about me, and I am very old Jedi Knight social activist.

     

    I'll better start from the begging there is a lot of boring E-biography , so feel free to skip reading this part :

     

    I started playing JKA in 2004, joined one little clan, and than in 2007 I formed my own formation Saber No Powers (SNP) which grew into the one of biggest and most unknown clan in Poland. In 2009 We got over 40 members, yet only few clan matches (and ever fewer won) the whole thing I was concerned was a good atmosphere and training, lot of players laughed at me, told me that I am playing worse than they do, so how can I teach them? Turned out - like every one else, I have learned every possible technique and even developed few myself, that's what I was teaching and testing, when I told someone every single one of them, I let them fight as they please. Anyways SNP fall in 2010 which I admit was my fault, got lost in clan when I didn't even knew new recruits and ALL work was done by my three councils (Some of new players thought one of them is the leader) and for me it was a bit too much, because I always knew every one, was everyone's friend etc.

    But SNP left one thing, a clan site, which i turned into a community site and now we are turning it into the biggest and most awesome Jedi Academy League! (Way for league advertisement please)

     

    In the meantime I worked for Force Mod III (along with Hirman) , I created download site which allowed me to speak with Several sided Sid and Sith-J-cull once , sadly our download has been taken down along with Megaupload (not enough space to put files on site), I also created few NPC fixes and NPC mods. How come you never seen them? Well I wasn't uploading them at JK3Files. The only thing I posted on JK3Files was this http://jediknight3.f...com/potd/138330 PoTD. I also uloaded some of my NPC experiments on xfire profile , and uloaded MANY tutorials. I made interviews and several more things.

     

    So Hi all, hope that you'll like me, cos I'm going to help this site a LOT, downloads , tutorials , list of all commands , i got it all covered already :)
