Yeah the current thing to do these days is to make the mesh in Zbrush and retopo, not importing base meshes from other packages. I still have problems doing this

Well I'm forcing myself to do it this way since I can see the benefit of the end result. Just make yourself sit through hours of youtube zbrush tutorials like I did. It's still hard getting used to the hotkeys, I constantly find myself trying to use Softimage hotkeys and causing myself to go through a round of undo's.
