      Perhaps that's its stance, too vertical and making it stand too tall in comparison to the vehicle in the movie.

  3. A lot of ideas for mod stories. But when you are not able to make just a box in mapping and modelling, well... just make the scripts, musics and what you can in coding.

    At last! After A LOT OF TIME (more than one year) of work, the first project I started and the last I finished, the French version of Shadriss' mod Deception, is released. This version has been made without the authorisation of Shadriss, because of the lack of E-Mail or Website to contact him. However, if he has anything to say, he can naturally contact me. This version, compared to my others, isn't an ordinary patch: audio files are automatically replaced and it's possible to play with only one language (more precisions are given in the Readme). I took the liberty to make some little modifications and enhancements too; nothing changing storyline or gameplay, just a try, I hope, of improvement of game experience. Make you sure you already have the original mod, available here. This version changes the audio, but not maps, models, scripts and all the stuff. Enjoy! And please, if you could give an opinion about this version, even you aren't French-speaking people, you'd be amazing. It's not in my habits to "beg" feedback, but this project took me so much time that we'll make just an exeption. This is important to me too. Click here for original mod =============== Enfin ! Ce n'est pas dans mes habitudes de "mendier" des commentaires, mais ce projet m'a pris tellement de temps que nous ferons une petite exception. C'est aussi assez important pou moi.   8. "sticking landing", the both annoying words appearing everytime you jump. Aything to erase them please?

  9. Death animations are weird. Nothing truly realistic, too slow, almost too kiddy

      There is one animation that feels quite realistic, and gives me the chills every time: the sideways fall and convulse one.

       

      You can disable them all and replace them with simply ragdoll by setting broadsword to 2, but I personally like them.

      What I miss is a death animation/ragdoll for the vertical slice in half -- which happens quite frequently. It's jarring to see a horizontal decap happen when the character has been sliced in half vertically.

      Two animations are realistic imo: the one after a headshot, the character falls back immediately (2 animations), and the one when he falls, the hand on the stomach (but maybe a little bit long). Their codes are BOTH_DEATH2 and BOTH_DEATH22 for immediate death and BOTH_DEATH18/19 for the stomach (right or left side). Just a little "too much" with the second animation: how he puts his legs although he's alread dead.

      The anims I find really not realistic are a headshot, the char...

  10. When we are not a professional team, with a few people which make this during free-time, and you want to make anything very accruate, it takes time. I have often news from NumberWan in MP who tells me the situation. Maybe he'll tell it himself but right now there is one map to modify because it would take the limits of the engine. I know this project is during since 10 years. There is almost 100 pages of script, with hundreds of characters (a lot of "little", but they have to be programmed too), dozens of maps (maybe large), new textures, new vehicles... I have a deep respect for NumberWan and Olgo who are still working on this mod since 10 years; maybe a lot of us wouldn't have this patience. @@Darth Futuza I don't know what the team wants to make, if it stays secret or not. But I know that too many advertising could ruin the experience ("Oh yes, I already saw that!"). Where's the surprise? This is understandable they don't want to release too much content; all screens are sufficient, imo.
  11. The project is definitely real. I read, translated the script in french and saw several things (first, the screenshots). Be patient. All will come in time, this is for soon.

  13. "Deception" mod crashes when using lightsaber in 3rd level since I use OpenJK. Embarrassing when you fight a Dark Jedi...

      Does that particular level involve you retrieving a Lightsaber, like Kyle would in yavin_trial?

      No, we take it at previous level. But I think I have an idea: there is a cutscene in some rooms, and idk if it's an issue or anything, but when I have a weapon, the NPC of my character tooks it (and uses it randomly if there are enemies). The game runs when I'm using guns, but crashes just when I use ligtsaber.

  14. Nice, it looks like a comic or 2D show inspiration. This is not a critic, because he's well-made. The appearance is simple but good. In fact, yours looks like an animated movie, and this one his "big brother" of live movie^^

      Saves, configs, screenshots, downloads, logfiles are all in the same location. DLLs are now only extracted to temp folder rather than basepath or homepath. It's meant to be portable and consistent with all OS' now. This change won't be going back by default. If you are so inclined to not run the game from program files, feel free to do +set fs_homepath "." in your launch parameters. User files in an install directory isn't very practical at all in modern times IMO.

      @Cerez: the "My Games" folder is in line with other games, such as Hotline: Miami, Fallout 4, Terraria, and South Park: The Stick of Truth.

      @ensiform I completely agree, and that's a useful tip for the bold and courageous -- not that I would ever want to try it. :P Having things in the Documents folder is so much easier for backups as well.

       

      @eezstreet Sounds great. Wish all my games adhered to saving in that location. Instead they dump their saves all over in the Documents folder... Sadly OpenJK is the only one for me to save into the "My Games" folder.

  17. I spoke a little bit too fast... Game runs, it's all right, but not when I want to launch mods with .bat files. Would you know a way to run them with OpenJK please? EDIT: Nevermind, just make a modification in them.
  18. Very good! This is always nice to have more aliens than Rodians, Weequays and Grans in JK I love how they're holding their blasters. Did you made this change by yourself or was it inside another mod?
  19. I just asked myself "Does anymone make an Imperial officer in battle suit?" This is amazing, and Imperial infanry is not wellknown enough, Stormtroopers are "elite" troops. Just one question: is it a difference between the officer with glows and the one who've not? Better graduation?
  20. I... I... I don't... DAFUQ? Well, I just re-installed OpenJK and the game runs without bug, although it didn't before. I prefer to not trying to understand. Even with old saves and mods/maps, no problem at all. But first of all, I want to thank you VERY, VERY, VERY MUCH for the time you gave in this thread (4 pages!), trying to find a solution and other ways. You were very patient without leaving, it was really nice! Well, it doesn't fix the bug with MOH but it is not as important as JKA (mods, maps and all in this SW game). I mark the topic solved for me. Hope it will work with my friend's games.
  21. Well, all has been made right, but it orders to have Quake 3 installed when I click on it. And the problem's still the same with JKA: no launch

  24. I know, but it could be the exception (it didn't work on my friend's PC which is on W10 too). I don't know, when I click on one it opens a black and white console (like with .bat files, not console of JK) which tells me to install Quake: Arena, and the other misses a SLD.dll file to run properly... Does ioquake3 work?

I know I must find the solution by myself, but there is a fact after I had an idea: As it run with the same engine (Quake III with .pk3 files), I said "What if I install Medal of Honor: Allied Assault"? So it installs without problem and when I want to launch it... same thing than Jedi Academy! Nothing happens after clicking on "Play". And even with the add-on Breakthrough. So, it seems there is a problem with Quake engine more than JKA, even all runs fine with JO. I don't know if it could help, but after all...
