  1. Wow, I like! It has an original Star Wars feel to it. Fits with Boba's outfit.
  2. @@Sithani, I never said the prequels "suck". I only said that I don't consider them to follow the feelings/themes/concepts of the original trilogy closely enough. They change what was Star Wars, the same way that the Clone Wars series changes it. That doesn't mean that either production can not be enjoyed or loved if the new themes/concepts are closer to one's own experiences and views. That's why expressing things like "everyone who follows this show is a loser" is not a considerate opinion. Everyone has a reason to like as well. That's a very strong opinion, and I happen to disagree; in my personal life I know quite a few adults who love this show and they consider it to be very much Star Wars in every sense. Sure there are weak points -- just like in any other TV series -- but we're willing to overlook these if the rest of the episodes are good. And I find Season 3 onwards really good. Especially Seasons 4 and 5. It's worth noting that Season 6 was not finished / meant to be released. It was released due to popular demand from the fans. In my original post I was mentioning the positive aspects in order to emphasise the good in the series because of the general negative consensus arising from the childish start. Personally, while highly entertaining, I found the plot elements of Darth Maul's survival and the Force beings weak, but the Darth Maul plot didn't impact the story of the films too much (which was good), and he (and Savage) served well to demonstrate the power of Darth Sidious, not as a passive man, but as a cunning, revengeful, hateful, and powerful Sith who trains in secret, and how he deals with those who oppose him. That I liked. It added to all the movies' vision of him as a frightful villain. Also, Ahsoka fighting Obi-Wan and Anakin, tainted and empowered by the Dark Side, in the Force beings episodes was highly entertaining to watch. I think that was a rather senseless decision from the Disney management. By what authority are they declaring years of fiction work to be not what it represents? It just goes to show that they have no respect for the fans or moral responsibility for integrity. I stand by and support all those who continue to consider the EU to be official Star Wars as well, and I just can't see why it wouldn't be. No management can take away the stories in our hearts, and them declaring this or that does not change the fact that the EU was based around the themes of Star Wars and its world and characters. @@hleV, your intention seems to be to insult and offend me with almost every post you make here. If you have something against me personally, then let's discuss this in a civil manner in private. Otherwise please refrain from insulting anyone who happens to like these series. Your opinion and thoughts are welcome here as long as you don't deliberately offend people. Direct your criticism towards the show, not towards the people who enjoy it. And don't finger-point and insult.
  3. Well, most things here are Star Wars related one way or another. If we had a general "Star Wars" section/forum, I think all the posts would somehow end up there because that would be the easiest/laziest place/way to start a new topic. I may be wrong, though.
  4. I think one thing is great in @@Ping's idea: a comment that's a warning from a moderator could be distinguished with a red (or other) colour. The comment itself could be a simple and polite request to cease the inappropriate behaviour, but the distinct colour would help to make it look/feel more official.
  5. Sadly no, I can't find Kit Fisto, either… What about this one? http://tf3dm.com/3d-model/obiwan-kenobi-53682.html Or is this version 1?
  6. Also, I don't like the word "sucks". Summing up and entire project that lasted many years to make by saying that it just "sucks" is not really helping anyone's understanding or showing respect for the artists/creators and their efforts on the work. Every work has its strengths and faults, too. The original Star Wars trilogy had them, too. There are some things that worked really well, and some things that were questionable and flawed. Just saying that something "sucks" is a very closed-minded response. No work of art (with effort put into it) is all bad.
  7. (@@hleV, please show a little more respect for others' likes and opinions. It's fine that you don't like the series, but don't lash out offensively at others for finding it interesting.) I guess it depends on what you consider to be Star Wars. This is something that will become more and more apparent as new Star Wars episodes and stories are created. Lucas changed the original story when he released the prequels, then the Clone Wars series changed the prequel story slightly with its interpretation of the characters' relationships and experiences, now Rebels will do the same to the original trilogy, and Episode VII will again impact our perception of Return of the Jedi and the original closure of the film series. The story of Star Wars is ever-changing. Certain themes and thematic/story backgrounds are always present that make it Star Wars, but the actual stories keep changing. Considering this, the Clone Wars added a lot of new content -- some of it good, some of it not so good -- to the Star Wars universe, and, as @@therfiles said, it became canon. The same way the new Rebel series will likely become canon, too. And Expanded Universe did a similar thing, too. They're all Star Wars, and they are all new angles on essentially the same universe and ever-changing grand story. Personally, as a fan, I'm committed to the original Star Wars trilogy in its unaltered, first release cinematic form. That's the authentic Star Wars to me. But I can't say that the Clone Wars series or the prequel movies are not Star Wars, either. They are all a part of the same universe, and each reveals a little more of this fictionary world. And each new story contains something I may like or find interesting that expands and builds on my view of this world. And it's fun to toy around with new ideas. That's creative freedom. Sometimes they work, sometimes it's a miss.
  8. @@itachisen, unfortunately it seems every source from CWA is missing this texture… :\ https://www.dropbox.com/s/tfoer24y6hrn03z/obi-wan.zip As an alternative, maybe you could try to use the Obi-Wan model from Republic Heroes instead? https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7035486/republic%20heroes%20models.rar
  9. It looks like someone made an error/oversight while extracting them. I have another source. I'll see if I can upload it for you tonight.
  10. I'm not sure, are these the right ones? https://www.dropbox.com/s/plckfqeanzgwtax/Obi-Wan_Kenobi_update1.7z
  11. Well, it's a series. Any series will have episodes that are not that great. Nitpicking is not really the way to appreciate a series. I like to look at the bigger picture, and I find that most of the episodes are quite good. There are a few that are too far-stretched, and there are a few that are just stunning. I think with a television series you always need to look past the errors and see the bigger picture (appreciate the larger story at play). I've never seen a TV series where every episode was perfectly executed and everything adds up to the last detail. On the "magic" part, though, I understood that as the "magic" also being the Force, just used from a different perspective. The Jedi and Sith referred to it as "the Force", but other and more primitive cultures around the galaxy would have referred to it by other names, such as "magic". It actually make sense to me if you look at it from this angle. Personally I thought the world with the Force beings didn't make much sense in terms of Star Wars, but I still found it entertaining. (It had elements from classic sci-fi films such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, and particularly Contact.) I admit they could have done better with that one, as well as Yoda's adventure (which was rushed in its execution).
  12. Thanks Circa. I'll try to count them this time. I'm suspicious that my browser is stealing some from me…
  13. Sorry, but that's not a valid argument. Not everyone likes everything, but that doesn't make it bad.
  14. LOL, are you sure it's 30? It seems a lot less… Well… what can I say, the Force is strong with this one. B) But seriously, there's so much good feedback and fun replies around that I just can't help myself. And if you're involved in more than 3 active conversations on the forums, you end up hitting the limit pretty quick.
  15. Gaaah! This like limit is driving me crazy! >.<' Why limit the amount of likes on a daily base? Depending on how active I am here there are days when I just need to like more comments than normal. That's like putting a curfew on smiling. You can smile, but only three times a day. Sorry, but you've exceeded your limit on smiling. Now you'll have to keep a solemn face or frown...
  16. That's an interesting suggestion. I'll have to look into that for the next release.
  17. Fedora is about as easy to install as Ubuntu. What distro have you tried to install? Some Linux distros are not meant for beginners, and you really need to know what you're doing. For example, Arch Linux is definitely not meant for a beginner. Great system, but not for beginners. However, I should probably mention that pretty much all Linux distros require a bit of command line knowledge for you to get the most out of them. PM me if you're having trouble, and I'll try to walk you through it.
  18. Really? It shows fine on this end. Both are linked from the same source... I'll be a good Linux user and point you the right way : http://fedoraproject.org/en_GB/get-fedora I love it. When my MacBook dies, I'll replace it with another laptop running Fedora.
  19. Mac OS X: I use this laptop for general fun/work/business. I've been a long-time Mac user. Fedora: My hide-away for inspiration and writing. The convenient thing with Gnome 3 is that you don't have icon clutter because there is no traditional desktop (unless you activate it deep in settings). The search in Gnome 3 is awesome! You can find anything on your computer easily, so there's no need to clutter things on the desktop. I keep most of my things in folders in the file browser. Don't worry though, I assure you, I'm quite strange! XD
  20. This is a friendly message to all those who have never fully watched The Clone Wars animated series (2008) because they thought it was too childish in the first few episodes/seasons. You're missing out. There's actually never been a better Star Wars story of a Padawan growing up to become a Jedi Knight in their daily life during the time of Old Ben's cherished "Clone Wars" era. While the whole thing starts with Ahsoka as a clueless initiate in (sort of) the spotlight, Season 3 onwards the story slowly shifts to a more adult perspective, and as she grows and learns her place in the Jedi Order, more intriguing themes come into play. There are dark force users who wield the force as magic, clone stories about brave soldiers who defied everything for the sake of human decency, dark side acolytes gone rogue after betrayed by their Sith masters, Padawan and Master relationships gone sour, and a whole lot of interesting insight into the Star Wars universe from all sorts of angles. Not to mention so many colourful characters and their stories from all walks of the Star Wars universe -- including links to characters even the original trilogy (hi Boba). It is Star Wars true and true, even if it is animated. So if you're reading this and you've never watched Season 3 onwards, what are you waiting for? Go and watch it now! I promise you won't regret it.
  21. Thanks @@therfiles. My idea is this: The player has selected a model/character at the beginning of the game. When the script runs as activated by a bound key, the value of the model cvar is saved in a newly created custom cvar called old_model. Then the model is changed to a new model as defined in the script (think change of clothes). When the player presses the action key again, the value from old_model is used to restore the player's previous model (clothing). I'm not sure if something like this would be possible to do in MP, but if we can somehow transfer a value between variables, then there's a chance I could finish this mod.
  22. Thanks, unfortunately this is for MP, and I'm okay to let go of the conditional concept (since there's no real scripting possibility in MP), but is there a way to transfer a value between cvars? Can I assign the value of one cvar to another through the console? Then I could create three different commands based on the player's gender/species, and make them toggle the new models on and off.
  23. No, more along the lines of: set ( "SET_ANIM_BOTH", "BOTH_HEADSHAKE" ); set ( "SET_ANIM_HOLDTIME_BOTH", -1 ); set ( "SET_FACESHOCKED", 2000.000 ); You still need to keep to the rules that Icarus has defined, but you can combine them because SET_FACE... and SET_ANIM_BOTH can be executed at the same time. They are animation on different layers.
