Hmm... in light of my new findings, The Force Awakens is actually not a bad movie at all. Sure it's not OT, but it's not that far off. It will all come together in the sequel this year. The problem was that they kept the first installment way too hush-hush in the series, afraid to give away any plot points at all. The story is actually not that bad.

  My 'favourite' is Poe's unceremonious return from the dead. Even if he did escape from that fighter, and left his jacket behind in the process, AND Finn was too blind to see that there is no-one in the cockpit, the movie still told us "he's dead", and then, "BOOM, in your face!" he's alive again, just in time to save the day. "Surprised? I knew all along, haha!"

  The amount of films where people are believed to be are dead but they turn out to still be alive is...immeasurable. /Krennic
  
  That's why it's considered a trope in films that unless you see the body, nobody is ever really dead. Hardly unique to TFA.
