  1. Is this around the color you meant? For now I just recolored it as I would like to grasp the same color that's on your mind. After I know which one you meant, I'm gonna do the texture.
  2. -.- to be honest, it's hard for me to keep track of all details, but... that's why I have you guys. opening photoshop back *goes drawing a dark purple tint* Actually you can see I copied that part from the original texture and made it blue, right? I'm gonna go do a leather texture, add some shadows and over that I'll try to redraw the same patterns from the original saber... and make them gold, not too much and over the whole thing, I'll apply a dark-purple/purple cloud render, blending set to hue and opacity to around 20-30%, which will make the purplish leather back and the lines more... cohesive, as you've tought me they schould be. How does this sound? Oh, I hope it's not gibberish to you and I was clear enough what I mean I could also show you in a few minutes.
  3. Well thanks @@Circa, though... yes, the design itself was also pretty hard to make... I mean the modeling of course. It's just... blueeeh. Here's one more thing I managed to make a bit better today on the Consul hilt, I plan on adding a button or two at the top of it, just for the sake of looks and detail.. somewhere around the locations the original hilt has it's buttons.

  7. Yeah thanks guys, you're giving me great motivation Don't worry, It's a work in progress. The released sabers won't have too many scratches like you say, they'll be top-of-the-class hilts, before that, I ain't gonna be satisfied. that's just how I work and in my opinion, the only one ready for release may be only the arbiter as of yet. I was busy the last days, today I'll have some pics of the adept and praetor models ready. EDIT: I realized what you told me about the scratches, and first of all before finishing the other sabers, I'm gonna go fix the textures up a bit... and the consul needs a bit of model fixing anyway. EDIT2: The fixed-up consul. I'm gonna add two more buttons to the model to give it a bit of detail. next up: sketches of other sabers... I've also started sketching the single-versions of the dual sabers (I'm gonna feature also them as broken-sabers... if you know what I mean). Oh and worry not, I'm gonna re-do the consul... It's just not what I want for this pack.
  8. Your skins are quite good. I have to agree with @@eezstreet though, that palpatine could look as astounding as Hapslash's models. If you want, I can tell you a few basic things you could add, like a filtering routine that makes the image sharper and more realistic, how to make various materials in photoshop from scratch and so on.
  9. Guys, has anyone played my reborn 2.0 and katarn 1.0? Toasty has messaged me about a bug with the saber blade length with the reborn one, I'm curious as to whether everything else is ok.. to me it seemed it is, but it seems it's... not

  13. I would donate if we had our own server! Money isn't an issue if you are willing to work for it and I'm sure as hell ready to relive those times when we crashed everynight fighting and dueling
  14. I've already replied to making the hilts for you.. and I've had a hard time reading this whole topic even now I can't really grasp the whole idea, but I liked it. And I really hope we could finish this goldpack or... jedi academy expansion pack, however you want to call it. I'm willing to contribute anything you need, as long as I have the time to do so. For now, to be honest, I have yet to remember most things of modding it, so I'm good only with playermodels and weapons... also effects could go through and texturing nearly anything also. when I find the time, I'm gonna start up GTKradiant and try UDK... I think the maps will need a lot of help and I could get the grasp of it pretty quickly. I once made my own short SP story mod, I just need to relearn it a bit.
  15. Well it's not really that I NEED someone to do it, it's more like if anyone wants just to have a go. As I'm planning to release more choices to the saber's skins alon with the mod, I would actually need some alternative skins and if I do all those by myself, I'll slowly but surely dry out my ideas. I haven't yet mapped the adept, so if you want, I can send you the models and templates for my arbiter, retaliator and consul. Here, I packed it for you (or anyone, really) who wants to have a go. https://www.dropbox.com/s/r73a8p8yxs4r4mp/sourcepack_sp1-3.rar When this SP pack is released, it will contain an "addon" folder, which will contain separate PK3 files with optional skins for the sabers. I'll equip each file with it's respective screenshot.. I think it's a cool feature, dunno, I don't get much feedback. The arbiter is the only one that is mapped according to the original textures (together with the previous Reborn and Kattarn), but I let go of this system. It was nice to see new models with original textures, though the addon will contain textures just copy-pasted from the original ones, I don't really need to trouble myself with mapping it that way. I hope to finish the Adept today, as it's the coolest saber I've created for this pack yet, in my opinion.
  16. Yes, this engine needs quite a lot of work yet, but I have to say I not only like your idea, I love what you've accomplished already! I tried it and I suddenly want to play SP just with your engine! Allthough, here's an issue I ran into... when I started the first mission (mos eisley), if I use my saber, I can't move around other than by jumping. My character is just set to the first frame of _humanoid.gla, the one where he's in a "crucify" position The meele is a bit too strong... a fourth of the damage it does now would be sufficient and real, IF YOU ASK ME. Other than that, as I said, I'm astonished!
  17. I think the servers had a crushdown... Dunno actually, I never really knew, I was just visiting PCgamemods a LOT. For Kotor and JKA... than one day it just didn't open anymore. Oh and yeah, I was actually more curious about the KOTOR mods from PCgamemods... the JKA ones I loved were hapslash's obi-wan and darth vader :3 I think that soon after this it broke down...
  18. yes I agree, I also stated before the colors seem wrong.. actually I've already done that. And if you thought the retaliator is amazing... imagine what the adept looks like, made in style like those sabers before. it's becoming really cool, all shielded and stuff :3 almost done with the modeling EDIT: Guys I'm thinking about going onward with the modeling of other sabers, anyone wants to give a shot at texturing? I can send you the needed files, I'm so or so gonna do them myself anyway, but.. if anyone wants to take a bit of work off of my hands, I'll just be all the more happy.

  20. I'm doing a rasengan mod for my cousin.. but I've run into a little problem. Too much lifetime leaves trails of the particle in the air and too few makes it blink... how could I make it rotate in place without leaving trails?
  21. Guys for no reason, today when I started JKA, the game loads itself but other than the menus, all models are missing! no playermodels, no weapons... what could have happened?? Well but for the sake of my coming mods, I plan to reinstall the game whole anyway... I'm just curious as to how this could've happened! Also, when I loaded some of my sword mods, the blades where there. Like the game suddenly wasn't 1.01 but 1.00. Is this even rationally possible? O.o I smell a virus on the run.. EDIT: I'm playing actually the JKO:JKA mod... and when I load up JKA, the models are missing as I described above. When I load JKO, the game just crashes after the movies at the start...

  24. Nice, well I'm yet fascinated as to how many different mods are here that I have never seen as of my joining here. JK3files never had such astounding mods.. or it may be that overall mods are done better than they were then.
  25. Guys, going forward. I have to say I don't really like the retaliator even now and I'll probably take a go at it a third time from scratch, though I was fascinated as to how good the saber looked with shaders in-game. Well, here's a quick-peek at the model from modview and a second pic showing the new consul model and it's map... which means that's probably what I'm drawing over right now hehe.
