I thought I would throw a few lists together of files that you should just have. Improvements to base that everyone should have: Complete Console Font by @@eezstreet - Adds some missing characters to the console.JK2 Taunts for JK3 by @@SiLink - Puts in the sounds for all the JK2 models that are missing their sounds in JKA.Textureless Swoop Fix by @@MagSul - Does what it says on the tin. If someone spawns the default "swoop" vehicle in multiplayer, you normally get an awkward grey mess, this mod replaces that texture-less swoop with the colour swoop of your choice.Base Customisation Complete by Your's Truely - Adds customisation support to most base models, by giving them all access to around 100 parts each from other base models.Ingame Menus by @ - Lets you browse servers, start up games, and view demos, without disconnecting from your current server.Improved Base Scope by Me again >.> - Basically removes (or makes transparent) the huge black edges of the Disruption Rifle's scope and adds a cross-hair so you can see the entire screen and can actually aim. I know its another mod by me, but I added it as it fits the mission statement, to improve base content. Has various options to get your preferred look.Improved Animated Base Chat Icon by Myself - Three variations on the default bubble, moving the stalk so that it points to the player, rather than next to him, base bubble with animated dots, or the improved bubble with animated dots.Broken staff sabers for SP by @@minilogoguy18 - A mod which adds support for the unfinished Single Player feature in which staffs can occasionally get broken in half. This works by adding some models which represent half of each of the base staff hilts, and adding a line to their .sab files to enable the feature. It's on the list as it enables a base feature which never got finished. Good stuff.Jaden Hoth Fix by @@minilogoguy18 - I've seen quite a few different versions of this over the years, but they are basically all identical so it doesn't really matter whose version you use. This lets you select the hoth clothes when creating a Jaden character.JA+ Related Stuff - Pretty much every open server uses this mod. You should have it. JA++ by @ - A far superior version of the JA+ client, compatible with ja+ servers. It has a bajillion awesome features and is so so so much better than Sliders client. If you play on ja+ servers, you are insane if you dont use this mod.New Black Saber by @@Shadow - Replaces the ja+ black saber with a far nicer one, with a white core like all other sabers, making it actually visible.Maps - The most awesome and commonly used maps. Jedi's Home (JL) V2 by @@Stone - An old and highly used map full of secrets. A great number of other custom maps copy ideas from this one.Sith Council V3 by @@Kahn - Another very widely used map (along with version two which many prefer). Used on a number of servers, lots of Roleplayability.The Academy V3 - A hugely popular map made by Virtue for thejediacademy.net. Famous for its number duelling and practice rooms.Atlantica by @@Szico VII - A vast and very pretty map set in a very cool underwater structure.FFA Bespin Ported to JKA by Tysplo - Adds FFA_Bespin to JKA. Used on a few major servers, so worth keeping in base.Hydroball - If you play Hydroball, these files are a must. Hydroball II Mod by Rich Whitehouse - The mod that brings you Hydroball, the game in which jedi.....play football.....underwater...Hydroball Ball Pack by @@MagSul - This lets you replace the almost invisible blue default ball with your choice of colour or a traditional football skin.Hydroball Map Pack by totally-not-me-again - I list this as these are the only maps that were used in our weekly Hydroball matches. Although these matches are not running at the moment.Please post anything that you think should be added to this list. Its a work in progress.

@@Caelum is currently poking one option for me which MIGHT not work. Assuming it goes south, I'd like a host to fall back on. You've all told me what NOT to use, can anyone actually recommend anyone? xD

Just finished work on Hydrotank! I'm planning on making more of these. Anyone have any neat ideas for a hydroball map?

Aye, once you switch from ja+ there is no going back. Some more features: optional Trueview first person (actually looking through the eyes of your characters and seeing your body if you look down) first person sabers no crashing customisable shield damage and duelling shaders (choose effect, rgb and transparency levels) Massively improved chat box. (Scrolling, positionable, text size adjustable, optional time stamps, adjust how log messages stay on screen and more) Console time stamps Optional mini scoreboard to show top players instead of the leader icon. Analogue health, shield and ammo bars that fill up/down rather than the default four blocks that slowly fade out If for some crazy reason you dont want the super sexy ja++ hud, you can still use the default one. A ton of other stuff I don't remember. Here's how my hud currently looks, after i used ja++ to customise it. I've set it up to be as minimal as possible: The info block I have bottom right usually shows headings, telling you which is which, but I hid them off the side of the screen for a more minimal hud.I've also set the chatbox up so that it never overlaps my character.

Yeah, basically its a mod that does very little besides screw up all the damages and add admin commands for punishing people and server management. Pretty much every server uses it. @ is working on an improved version of it, compatible with the original, and it is mighty sexy. You can get the client here: http://japp.jkhub.org/forum/

As many of you may have noticed, I'm in the process of arranging a community server for us to play on. It's not intended as a 24/7 server, the idea is that it will be used to host various events and such. Currently the main idea is to play Hydroball. I wanted to know if there are any other things you guys would like to have happen. I'm thinking of perhaps setting up some tffa/ctf/duel ladders etc as well. Maybe some other events too of a similar nature to what some of you may remember from the old SR and Cosmos (I think a few other clans do them these days too?) monthly tournaments (things like LMS sniper battles, vehicle combat, capture the tauntaun, swoop races etc). I was also considering setting up something I planned out a while ago where clanmod is used to make guns far more powerful and have some decent gun battles. I also thought It could be a good opportunity to use some fun maps that don't get to see much daylight on most public ffa servers (space maps and such) Basically, I want your suggestions, so I can prepare some good stuff that you guys will actually want to play =P Ideas? Suggested So Far: Hydroball Capture The Tauntaun - Players fight over control of a tauntaun. (basically moving king of the hill) Hammerzeit - Duels with Knockback hammers over a death-pit. Ninjamod Gunslingers Academy Hide and Seek on custom maps. Tag duelling. Cause its like duelling, but much more betterer. Dog-Fighting Racing

Doubt it. Pretty sure everything I could use to move stuff short of a script of some sort (if even that is possible) only works on players. You could carry the ball through though I expect. I'm aiming for simplicity here anyways.

So, I've finished this map: http://jkhub.org/top...droball-temple/ And I figured as I am most likely going to be hosting a server for Hydroball soon, I would make a few other arenas. and release it as a pack. Probably with some hydro-baller skins too. Thought the next one should be as minimal as possible in both appearance and structure in contrast to the temple arena: "Hydrotank": It is going to stay like this, with no textures or lighting. Players spawn on top of the tank and can jump in the coloured holes to play. You will be able fall off the tank into an endless green pit of doom, when not in a match. The non-white tiles are solid glass, you cant fall through them.

Thanks for the advice gents. I'm almost certainly going to go ahead and get a server shortly. Anyone interested in sharing ownership? The idea is to use it for assorted events such as Hydroball, tffas, tournaments and whatever else people can come up with, for the jkhub community. If anyone wants to help pay for it we can get a bigger/better server (and keep it running longer) Obviously, I will give full CP access and all that to anyone who helps fund it, and they can do what they want with it most of the time seeing as I wont be hosting events 24/7. Any help funding it would be awesome, even if its only a small amount.
