  1. I simply decided to just move the vertex in the middle a little to give it a more octagonal shape. Looks a lot better.
  2. Yeah, sadly i dont think im skilled enough to remake/make the textures, but im sure ill find something out. I would love to have textures of quality that were used in the DF1 remake for JKA mod.
  3. The textures are only placeholder, and no lighting yet. I havent even finished 1 quarter of the map. Texturing and lighting are the last 2 things i do in a level, after i finish it. It helps with being sure the architecture and what not is really high quality, and i can focus on the map itself. But thank you man, glad you look forward to it, and dont worry the lighting and textures will be a lot better. Though we do have some of the textures that the other mod team used in there DF2 mod. I think that a lot of them just dont look good in this engine, so im lost at what textures i will use. I just cant seem to find any fitting textures. I wish there was like some sort of reference sheet that had a picture of every texture in the game and what directory they are in so i can find some nice ones.

I dont know if it was a good idea to change the back side to being more straight rather than have that overall octagonal shape. Should i try to make it look even more like the original or should i keep the changes ive made here.

  6. Well the Gorc and Pic level will be one of the easy levels to do.
  7. Well of course, Im not texturing the map till the map itself is done. No way in hell will the map look like that haha.

  9. Nothing official yet, but when i get done with level 6a, i think i will do level 6b as well. Lvl 6a and 6b were always my favorite. Also its really great we got Zero with us.

  11. So this has been the first time i have opened up and got back into GTKRadiant in a while. The main problem is, is my knowledge or lack of what/where the textures are. Like i need to know where the water textures are, i found a few. But they are meh.
  12. So even though im still working on the level, thought i may as well as make an official thread for it. Here is some work i have gotten done so far.
  13. So here is all the work i got done yesterday and early this morning. All of the first area is done besides the spawning point.

You may find this helpful as well if you own JK1." Oh yeah i do that too, Also helps with item placement later on and enemy placement.
  15. Hmm i totally understand, but i may seem bigger than it seems, i would say its very much to scale to the original. Edit: I took your suggestion and decided to make it somewhat wider. I think it was a good idea.

  17. I just got done with some more, and dont worry i have added a few more things, like i got nice curved pipes, i plan on having some structures on top of the area in the background. Some nice bordering along the top of the walls. But i havent got that far yet at all. About to upload a vid to youtube, ill post a link when its up showing off what ive got done so far.
  18. So i have done some little work, mainly looking at the textures and what not. But i got it so far to look almost just like it. The very bottom texture is just filler though. I am still deciding what texture to put there. Of course no lighting or anything at all yet.
  19. So far this is pretty cool, but i gotta say it felt cramped and i didnt feel right. Wasnt to scale as much as i expected it to be. But of course im looking at the demo and what not and is WIP. Just giving my honest thoughts and i dont mean to sound rude.

    Wow man, great work on the main menu. I think keeping in faithful to how the old one looks is the best idea but making it look better. Which you have cleary done so far. Great work.
  21. Awesome man, so i have no clue what textures you guys are using but if you can perhaps point me to a place where i can download some, if not ill just use some filler textures and what not. And i believe you guys are using some left over stuff from the older DF2 remake? The only thing that worries me about remaking levels are getting the textures and models. Hopefully we can get people willing to help with that.
  22. So i dont know if you're still looking for a level designer/mapper, but i could put some work in. Now to be honest my life can become busy ever so often but i usually have a good amount of time for modding and such. Just a heads up. But yeah i would love to help make the levels, i would consider my self pretty good at recreating levels (Thats actually how i taught myself to use Zed/GTKradaint/Unrealed and other moding tools). And i have messed around with making Quake 3 and JKO/JKA levels. I would especially love in helping make the Nar Shadaa and Barons Hed levels. And i think when i get home today i am going to try and see what i can do just for the fun of it and to prove myself haha.
