I'd have kept the visor separate because you can see where it joins at them two points on the helmet but maybe i'm wrong xD

I decided to go with Max 7 instead and it does support .GLM import and .MD3 export but i haven't tested the exporter yet as i am considering using XSI for all that stuff.

Looks pretty nice!

I have a few chicks I didn't want to have to talk to that I ditched out on that are on my Skype, and was really just fighting logging in XD, true story, but screw it I just did. My bad for anyone who has been hitting me up on Skype...
Just block them! lol

Actually i only use skins that people on this forum seem to like a lot so i don't know what that says lol. In fact i've only ever used one skin.

No, I have been asking around for that too. Someone really needs to make one. I tried just converting the GLMs to something else and import that. It kinda worked but I'm sure someone with more experience would have a better answer.
Don't you find that having to re-weight it can be tedious though?

@minilogoguy18 is making tutorials on modeling using XSI. Check it out here.
It's focused on people who don't know how to model (like me) and it' exremely basic (I assume), but I'm sure it's helpful for knowing the software.
Do you know of a .GLM importer for XSI?
-
I have a lot of experience in modeling and i've used XSI before just not a lot...

It's what the Dev's used to make the game. Best option for compatibility.
I thought so but i couldn't find anything on it. Sadly newer software doesn't seem to accept the .GLM importer plugin, the one i have for 3DS only imports the model and that's no good. I'm afraid that if i use XSI it'll have issues with such an old thing lol.
-
Yeh i know what it's like when people poke fun because of your modeling skills or lack of. When i was pretty new there was this mod team that always mocked me and made fun of me because i used to use box modeling.
Didn't get to me it just made me want to better myself and wipe their smugness in their faces when i became better than them lol.

^^It is true.

Understandable. On the other hand I've been using Blender for 8 or so years, so it's my tool of choice. But I totally get the criticism.
Friends keep trying to get me to use it but i just don't see the point when i could use the time modeling but i think the only problem i'd have is learning the whole UVW unwrapping thing again but modeling isn't so hard to pickup. Most modeling software is interchangeable when it comes to things like that, heck Blender even has a 3DS Max controls option for users to choose if they don't feel comfortable with the default.
-
There's also this certain plugin for that one major free modelling suite...
I've never been a fan of Blender, it's interface is too needlessly complex and i don't really want to learn another piece of software when i've been using others for 8 or so years xD

For those of you also looking this is probably what you want: http://jkhub.org/files/file/1571-3ds-max-2010-32-bit-dotxsi-exporter/
If not its probably in this list: http://jkhub.org/files/category/1-utilities/
So i guess most of you use XSI? I used that a few years ago, seemed pretty good. When i import a model into 3DS the textures don't come with it and the option to import weights is greyed out.
So would you suggest using XSI?
-
Well i can't do it in any 3DS Max higher than Max 5 and Max 5 wont even work on Windows 7. So which software would be best to use with JKA when it comes to modeling and will i have to get a specific plugin for the .GLM?
***EDIT***
Nevermind i found a plugin for 3DS Max 7

If someone doesn't have the skin you are using, then they will see you as kyle.
NO NOT KYLE!!

Due to the recent DDOS attacks we are waiting on a reply from Fighter to see about JKHub hosting us a website for now, and I will be setting up my OWN vps here soon unless I can find a better option for server hosting.
There's always some gits that have to ruin it for everybody else isn't there? I mean what is the point in attacking something that has nothing to do with them and has certainly done nothing TO them? It's so sad and pathetic yet so many human beings suffer with this affliction.

So i was just wondering this as i'm the sort of person that really likes to be unique and i have seen people on multiplayer with, what seemed like, custom skins/characters (not to any major extent though.)
Does that mean that when i just played a match with a custom character, that other people saw it or do they see a generic character from the game? I know that some servers give you the ability to automatically download content but that tends to be server side.
Thanks!

sounds good. ill go back to the wireframe of the previous model and take baby steps little bits at a time and post progress. Ive noticed that I do good, then go on a huge 3 hour long modelling binge and screw the pooch. baby steps this time. and thx man
Hit me up on Skype man i've been trying to talk to you about that thing you asked me to do a week ago xD

What happened to the website? I can't even connect to the server anymore...
