minilogoguy18
I remember seeing that .md3 models can have LOD's just like a .glm but I'm not sure how to set them up. Anyone know? Link to comment
minilogoguy18
@@DT85 ? Searched a thread where you mentioned doing it but no details on how, tried the usual naming system for GLM LOD's but it didn't work. Link to comment
Tempust85
Have 4 scene files, essentially clones of the original. Same tags and mesh parts. Scene 1 = LOD0 - original model. export as "example.md3"Scene 2 = LOD1 - export as "example_1.md3"Scene 3 = LOD2 - export as "example_2.md3"Scene 4 = LOD3 - export as "example_3.md3" To test that you've done it correctly, use MD3View and test the LODs by loading "example.md3" and changing the LODs via the menus/hotkeys. minilogoguy18 likes this Link to comment
minilogoguy18
I'll test this tomorrow after work. Link to comment
minilogoguy18
Works great, now I'm gonna go on a LOD spree. Wonder why Raven never did this to all the models to further optimize the game? I guess most MD3 models were already pretty low detail. Link to comment
