Adding a MOTD

I know this is a very noobish question, but how do you add different colors to names, messages, etc. ingame? -Solved.

 

How do you make those "messages of the day" you see in JAPlus servers?

use JA+, JA++, CM, or code your own MOTD thingy :/

I use JA+ V2.4 Build 7. I believe the command is /g_motd "your text here" quotes included. I've tried adding it directly into the in-game console and as a .cfg file (seta g_motd "yadda yadda yadda"). Please tell me what I'm doing wrong.
