RcEnolc
Hi; I have been working on a 1.00 map for me and my friends for a while now but had an error with gtk for a while so I could not compile, but I still worked on the map. Everything was fine at this point. Now when I try to compile -light, -fast/faster. -vis I get this error, and from what I have read online it seems no one really knows what to do. I have been using GTK 1.4.0. Can you please help. This is a link to the .map if you need any of the files e.g. shaders just ask, thank you.http://www.mediafire.com/view/68tvmr0zadh2g82/rcmap.map Link to comment
mrwonko
and from what I have read online it seems no one really knows what to do.People know, but pretty much all the forums in which they've written about it are offline now. A lot of information has been lost. The error indicates that q3map2 ran out of memory. You can try compiling with -lomem, trading decreased memory usage for vastly increased compile times, or, if you have a 64 bit operating system, get a 64 bit build of q3map2 that can use more than 2-4gb of memory. RcEnolc
Where will I find q3map2 which supports 2+GB of RAM?; and in radiant 1.4.0 there is no -lomem option in the map compiler, and yes I have 64 bit with 8GB of ram which is why I do not suspect it being an issue. Link to comment
Futuza
Here: http://jkhub.org/files/file/1705-gtk-radiant-164/ If you don't want to change from Radiant 1.4, you could follow this: http://jkhub.org/tutorials/article/96-updating-the-compiler-q3map2/ Link to comment
Szico VII
http://jkhub.org/files/file/1335-q3map2-2gb-memory-usage/ You can use -lomem on any version of q3map2. You can use a frontend like q3mapgui to do this easily (see the downloads section)The radiant version is irrelevant as radiant doesnt compile the maps, q3map2 does. Link to comment
RcEnolc
Thanks a lot for the help I used a bit of trial ad error and now see why maps don have that many tree entities/ Although I am getting some weird problem where when in-game and insidea room some of the parts look like they are not there, from certain perspectives. I think these screenshots should show what I mean Normal - http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/aa340/RcEnolc/jamp2013-12-1820-06-22-03_zps7ed6a3e3.jpg Bugged - http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/aa340/RcEnolc/jamp2013-12-1820-06-24-57_zps7b8347e6.jpg P.S This reply box does not allow paste, and crashes when I tried to use the images url's.
