safe_malloc failed on allocation of xxxxxxxx bytes error

Recommended Posts

Hi; I have been working on a 1.00 map for me and my friends for a while now but had an error with gtk for a while so I could not compile, but I still worked on the map. Everything was fine at this point. Now when I try to compile -light, -fast/faster. -vis I get this error, and from what I have read online it seems no one really knows what to do. I have been using GTK 1.4.0. Can you please help.

This is a link to the .map if you need any of the files e.g. shaders just ask, thank you.

People know, but pretty much all the forums in which they've written about it are offline now. A lot of information has been lost.

The error indicates that q3map2 ran out of memory. You can try compiling with -lomem, trading decreased memory usage for vastly increased compile times, or, if you have a 64 bit operating system, get a 64 bit build of q3map2 that can use more than 2-4gb of memory.

Thanks a lot for the help I used a bit of trial ad error and now see why maps don have that many tree entities/ Although I am getting some weird problem where when in-game and insidea room some of the parts look like they are not there, from certain perspectives. I think these screenshots should show what I mean

P.S This reply box does not allow paste, and crashes when I tried to use the images url's.
