Vegeta
I made an effect in a .efx file, but I can't increase the range of the sound effect for it. I tried setting the cullrange to 8000, but that didn't work, so I set both the radius and the height to 8000 and that didn't work. Is there a way to make the sound global, or increase the range of it to cover the full map? Link to comment
Vegeta
Oh... so you're stuck with the default sound range, no matter what then? Link to comment
eezstreet
Yep. There aren't any volume controls or culling controls for sounds in the game period, other than making them global, which can't be done in efx so far as I know. Link to comment
Vegeta
Ok, that's unfortunate, does the same apply to Flash and CameraShake effects? Link to comment
eezstreet
No.CameraShake I don't think works in MP anyway. Flash doesn't work in JK2 MP. Link to comment
Vegeta
The sound, flash, and camerashake all work, however they all get cut off at a very short range. Link to comment
eezstreet
Turn up the size under origin/size, that should do it. Link to comment
Vegeta
Unless I'm doing it wrong, that still didn't work. Maybe it really is impossible to increase the ranges of those effect types. Link to comment
Szico VII
There are keys to use in radiant on target_speakers but they were all (for some reason) removed in JKA. I believe you can do it using .efx files though with sounds attached to them. Certainly can add camera shakes to those. Link to comment
eezstreet
@Scizo VII: They weren't removed; they never worked in the first place. it's possible to change the range, they just aren't referred to as distance cull Link to comment
