MISSION IMPROVEMENTS

JEDI OUTCAST: ARTUS TOPSIDE

- Corrected a small glitch where Kyle Katarn would spawn with an inaccessible lightsaber in his inventory.

DUEL OF THE FATES - QUI-GON JINN

- Improved a line of Anakin's dialogue that was popping at the end.
- Changed Captain Rex's appearance to his phase 2 armor.
- Changed Ahsoka's appearance to her Siege of Mandalore appearance.
- Corrected multiple issues where Qui-Gon would revert back to a younger appearance and then his older appearance.

DUEL OF THE FATES - DARTH MAUL

- Improved some Wat Tambor dialogue to include some additional sound effects from Attack of the Clones.
- Reduced Count Dooku's health in the final stage from 150 to 100
- Populated the hangar bay during the bleeding cutscene with Naboo Guard corpses.
- Improved the ending cutscene after Dooku is defeated.
- Changed the end credits music.

NPC SPAWNER

- Corrected an issue where Tavion Axmis (Possessed) would attempt to spawn with the incorrect code.
- Reborn and Saboteurs will now be customizable in the menu and will also spawn correctly.

MODEL IMPROVEMENTS

- Fixed a texture issue on quigon_old
- Adjusted Anakin Skywalker's hair so it's not floating in certain places.
- Ben Solo's lightsaber blade will now appear as intended.

Hotfix - 07/23/2021

- Brianna's robed variant will now switch on her lightsaber, as intended.
- Darth Talon's hooded and masked appearances will now appear as intended.
- Darth Desolous's lightsaber will now appear as intended.
- Corrected some formatting issues in the end credits, including adding some names and removing duplicates.

- Some devious pranksters weighed down the floating bridge during one of the trials, making it impossible to complete. Concerns were raised with Luke Skywalker and the weights have been removed.

FORCE POWER ADDITIONS

FORCE STASIS

- Rank 1: Freeze the targeted enemy in place for 5 seconds. Common force sensitives have a 10% chance of being affected, powerful force sensitives have a 0.5% chance of being affected.
- Rank 2: Freeze the targeted enemy in place for 10 seconds. Common force sensitives have a 50% chance of being affected, powerful force sensitives have a 5% chance of being affected.
- Rank 3: Freeze the targeted enemy in place for 15 seconds. Common force sensitives will be affected, powerful force sensitives have a 10% chance of being affected.
- Force Power Cost: 20

FORCE GRASP

- Rank 1: The target is staggered for 5 seconds
- Rank 2: The target is lifted straight up, rendering them defenseless.
- Rank 3: The target can be picked up and freely moved around.
- Force Power Cost: 1, then 3 per second

FORCE BLAST

- Rank 1: Create an explosion off a solid surface or enemy, causing 20hp of damage.
- Rank 2: Create an explosion off a solid surface or enemy, causing 40hp of damage.
- Rank 3: Create an explosion off a solid surface or enemy, causing 60hp of damage.
- Force Power Cost: 30

FORCE DESTRUCTION

- Rank 1: Jedi unleashes a violent blast of dark energy, causing damage equal to the amount of Force points lost.
- Rank 2: Jedi unleashes a violent blast of dark energy, causing damage double the amount of Force points lost.
- Rank 3: Jedi unleashes a violent blast of dark energy, causing damage triple the amount of Force points lost.
- Force Power Cost: All of player's current force reserves
- Damage caused by NPCs using this power will scale depending on game difficulty.
- Enemies killed by this power will be vaporized (purely cosmetic, does not affect damage).

FORCE FEAR

- Rank 1: 50% chance to affect an enemy, permanently forcing them to lash out against their allies and enemies alike.
- Rank 2: Common enemies are permanently forced to lash out against their allies and enemies alike. Common force sensitive enemies have a 5% chance of being affected while powerful force sensitives have a 1% chance.
- Rank 3: Common enemies are permanently forced to lash out against their allies and enemies alike. Common force sensitive enemies have a 50% chance of being affected while powerful force sensitives have a 5% chance.
- Force Power Cost: 20

FORCE LIGHTNING STRIKE

- Rank 1: Jedi unleashes a blast of Force Lightning across a vast distance, causing very little damage.
- Rank 2: Jedi unleashes a blast of Force Lightning across a vast distance, causing minor damage.
- Rank 3: Jedi unleashes a blast of Force Lightning across a vast distance, causing moderate damage.
- Force Power Cost: 20

CORUSCANT HEIGHTS

- Changed the map's music to reuse Naboo Palace's music, as it mostly matches the original map's track and doesn't replace Artus Topside's action track

NABOO PALACE

- Fixed the included music to play the entire intended track rather than 31 seconds.

MASSASSI TEMPLE

- Refactored some files causing script overwriting with Jedi Outcast mission Yavin Trial, which was preventing progress.

MISCELLANEOUS FIXES

- Battle Droids outside of the default droid will no longer sound feminine.
- The Republic's re-programmed battle droids will no longer appear in the Rebellion section of the NPC menu.
- The Nova Troopers, Storm Commandos, and General Weir no longer sound feminine.
- Added and updated some names in the end credits, including some YouTubers who have featured the mod in their own Let's Plays, Discord Server Boosters, and an unfortunate addition to "In Memory Of".

Patch Notes - 08/09/2021

MISSION IMPROVEMENTS

- Corrected some script issues that would permanently disable saber locking while in gameplay across all missions

DUEL OF THE FATES (OBI-WAN)

- Fixed an issue where the player would turn into a Stormtrooper if they were too slow to strike Maul.
- You will no longer be able to move while conversing with Qui-Gon at the end of the mission.

DUEL OF THE FATES (QUI-GON JINN)

- Added an animation to Qui-Gon during the final stage of the Clone Ambush.
- Removed a faulty Qui-gon saber model during the initial mission that should never have been there in the first place.
- Improved Palpatine's "small use for you" line during the dark side ending.

CODE CHANGES

- Created a new cvar "g_newforcepowers" to enable or disable npcs using the new force powers
- Created a new cvar "g_allowforceabsorb" to enable or disable npcs using force absorb
- Created a new cvar "g_allowforceprotect" to enable or disable npcs using force protect
- Created a new cvar "g_allowSaberLocking" to enable or disable saber clashes or locks.
- Modified the force_grasp command to allow to bind to a key and use it as intended.
- NPCs wielding a lightsaber are no longer immune to Force Lightning.

FORCE POWER CHANGES

FORCE STASIS

- Mine Crabs are no longer immune and have a 33% chance of being affected.
- All Droid NPC classes are now immune to Force Stasis
- CLASS_HAZARD_TROOPER is now immune to Force Stasis
- Force Stasis rank 2 now has a 10% chance to affect a common Jedi or Sith (decreased from 50%). Powerful Jedi and Sith now have a 1% chance (decreased from 5%).
- Force Stasis rank 3 now has a 50% chance to affect a common Jedi or Sith (decreased from 100%). Powerful Jedi and Sith now have a 5% chance (decreased from 10%).

FORCE ABSORB

- Level 1 Force Absorb will negate 20% of any incoming Force Blast attack
- Level 2 Force Absorb will negate 60% of any incoming Force Blast attack
- Level 3 Force Absorb will negate all damage of any incoming Force Blast attack.

FORCE GRASP

- At level 3, there is a 50% chance a common blaster-wielding enemy will drop their weapon.
- Force Grasp can now lift and move around Droid class NPCs.
- Force Grasp's animation was updated to look less like Force Choke.

FORCE FEAR

- Corrected a code syntax error allowing Force Fear to work way more often than intended.
- Droids, creatures, Mandalorians, Galak Mech, Hazardtroopers, and npcs using the Concussion Rifle can no longer be affected.
- Powerful Jedi and Sith NPCs are now immune to Force Fear

- In the pre-lightsaber levels, Kyle Katarn will spawn with a Bryar Pistol instead of a Blaster Pistol as intended.

- Removed the player being assigned Force Sense and Melee at the beginning of the level.
- Replaced the Bryar Pistol with a Lightsaber, as intended.

THE SITH EMPIRE

- Replaced the Sith Juggernaut's model with the new Sith Apprentice model.
- Replaced the swords used by Ludo Kressh and Naga Sadow with the Sith Sword.
- Darth Sion when first defeated will regenerate either 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100% of his health and the fight will continue. On subsequent defeats, Sion has a 33% chance of being killed.

If the Inquisitor is damaged beyond 75% of their maximum health, they will switch to their staff Lightsaber for the remainder of their existence unless they heal.

INFINITIES

- NEW MECHANIC: COMPASSION IS WEAKNESS; If Darth Traya has an active enemy and she is struck by an ally of her enemy, her attacker has a 33% chance of being damaged for 1-3 hp per damage calculation. This effect does not take place if Traya's enemy is on the Solo team.

- NEW MISSION: THE LAST JEDI; With the Resistance cornered, Luke Skywalker confronts his nephew Ben Solo on the salt-covered world of Crait to allow the Resistance time to escape.
- RESTORED MISSION: FATHER VS. SON; Restored after initially being cut, relive the iconic duel in Return of the Jedi, play as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, or Emperor Palpatine as you partake in the duel that decides the balance of the Force.

DISCLAIMER: The Father vs. Son mission is a direct port from the original mission released in Knights of the Force 2.1. As such, no changes to the original mission (except for the addition of the end credits and Luke's saber actually moving during a cutscene) have been made. Any and all remaining bugs will not be addressed in lieu of the Father vs. Son remake coming at a later date.

JEDI ACADEMY: EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE - BAKURA

- Jaden will no longer activate his lightsaber and turn in a strange direction during the opening cutscene.

REVAN VS. MALAK

- Replaced the dead Jedi with KOTOR-accurate Jedi because IT'S. MORE. CANON!
- Added NPC barriers to prevent non-player characters from falling off the map or falling into areas of the map they can't get out of easily.
- Fixed clipping geometry in the map to make destroying the Jedi tanks significantly easier, including adding the ability to strike the Jedi with a Lightsaber possible or with Force Lightning much easier.
- Changed NPC teams for the cutscene NPCs for Revan vs. Malak so they look in the direction they're supposed to more often.
- Rewrote the overall scripting logic for Stage 3, which should prevent soft-locks with Darth Malak if the player destroys specific Jedi tanks.
- Fixed an audio issue where Malak's final two lines of dialogue in the first cutscene were clipping suddenly.
- Changed Revan's lightsaber hilt to the correct hilt in all cutscenes.
- Cutscene NPCs of Revan and Malak should no longer make sounds when accidentally hit by force powers during normal gameplay.
- Added Darth Malak's previously cut "Savior, Conqueror, Hero, Villain" line as a taunt to be played at some point during Stage 2 (The ambush stage).

OPERATION: KNIGHTFALL (LORD VADER)

- When selecting Lord Vader's POV for the first time, a pop-up will display explaining the exclusive buff to Force Grip during the mission.

MENU/UI FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS

DATAPAD

- Updated Force Fear's level descriptions to accurately represent the power's current behavior.

SETTINGS

- Corrected an issue where the warning screen was not displaying when changing certain graphical options in the menu.

CHARACTER SELECTION

- Fixed some menu syntax to allow for more rapid scrolling through the menus instead of needing to slightly move the mouse in order to progress.
- Removed a pointless "Apply" button located in the main character selection.
- Clicking on a character will no longer immediately change your character, requiring you to click on the "Apply" button to apply your changes. Done in order to encourage browsing characters.
- Fixed an annoying bug where it was impossible to click on the same character twice after selecting them in the menu.
- Characters with a random lightsaber color (such as generic Jedi) will no longer show a raving lightsaber blade.
- It is now possible to exit the character selection menus by pressing the Esc key, as intended.
- Fixed an issue where Bastila Shan's Jedi appearance was not appearing under the Skins section as intended.
- When selecting a new Skin for a character (where applicable), the name title for the character will no longer change unless the appearance is clicked on.
- The last page visited in the menu will be saved and will open when re-accessing the menu.

NPC SPAWNER


- Fixed a syntax issue where the Kneel action for the "Gravely Wounded Behavior" was not working as intended.
- Removed a blank option in the Gravely Wounded Behavior options

Hotfix Patch Notes - 09/07/2022

- Corrected Ysanne Isard's NPC menu entry so she appears as intended.
- Added some missing description text for the Third Sister's Inquisitor Mechanic.
- Darth Traya's Lord of Betrayal mechanic will now only allow for her to heal for no more than 2x her maximum health instead of a very large amount.
- Characters in character selection that are intended to have a lightsaber or melee weapon will now receive them as intended.

-NEW MISSION: OPERATION: KNIGHTFALL REMAKE; Re-experience the night of Order 66 as the newly christened Darth Vader leads the 501st Legion into the Jedi Temple to destroy the Jedi Order. Re-made from our original mission back in 2019 featuring all new moments inspired by the Revenge of the Sith video game, The Clone Wars, and more.

Featuring the voice talents of Plumb as Lord Vader, JollyGreenJack as a secret role, RedSun as the 501st Clone Troopers, Darth Voiid as Gate Master Jurokk, and Linken as a Jedi Temple Guard.

CODE UPDATES

- Re-wrote some logic to prevent the RE_RegisterSkin error message which would cause a number of player models to display the black and white invalid texture when loading a save game.

- Corrected an issue where the playermodel command would keep the same skin used by the previous model which could cause a missing texture OR missing skin issue.

- Implemented a number of improvements for widescreen displays. (Huge thank you to the Jedi Knight Enhanced team).

- Controller Support!

- Characters with saber-switching AI will now reflect the same saber color they started off with if their assigned color wasn't their default.

- New command: NPC Speech. Allows for any NPC or the Player to speak any audio file.

"NPC Sound [NPC Targetname] [Sound file path] [Voice channel]"

Valid channels are Global (Can be heard anywhere), Body (comes from the character's body but causes no mouth movement), Weapon (comes from the character's weapon), or leave blank for normal voice behavior.

 

- New command: NPC Remove. Remove any NPC from the game without needing to kill them.

OPENJK UPDATES

The following changes were implemented with recent commits to the JACoders/OpenJK GitHub repository.

 

- Game will no longer hang when attempting to load a map with more than 128 spawn points

- Re-worked logic to allow players to progress past the Force Power selection menu even after using the "Setforceall 3" command.

- The game should no longer crash if attempting to load a save game featuring a vehicle that was spawned from the console.

 

MAP UPDATES

MUSTAFAR (V3)

- Fixed all invalid NPC spawners that were attempting to spawn bad npcs.

 

NEW GAME PLUS UPDATES

- Added new logic to prevent melee-using npcs from spawning in certain conditions to prevent them from floating.

 

 

- Replaced the Purge Trooper melee variations with the Imperial Supercommando and Uprising Purge Trooper for the Stormtrooper Commander and Officer.

- Changed the snowtrooper's alternate enemy from a Cultist to an Imperial Supercommando.

 

MENU/UI FIXES

WEAPON SELECTION

- Selecting the trip mine will now provide it as intended

 

MISCELLANEOUS FIXES

- Beginning the Jedi Outcast campaign will now display the "A long time ago in galaxy far far away" message instead of the typical loading screen.

- Removed a number of pointless menu items from the JKJO pk3 file that was causing issues with starting a new game in the base game.

- The default targetname message will no longer display if the NPC attempting to be spawned is not valid.
