One idea I had years ago is to implement the glaive from Dark Sector in Jedi Academy:

This lightsaber from the mod Escape of Yavin IV can be used as model. It is only necessary a secondary fire that makes the camera follow the disc thrown in slow motion and that can change its trajectory.

I think I saw some old mods that featured an actual disk-blade weapon, but I'm not sure.

Also, I'm not sure if the authors would reply if there really is a diskblade somewhere and you'd want to use it.

Perhaps you refer to the Melee Mod, but I do not care the look of the weapon, but if you throw the disc, the camera follows it in slow motion and you can change its trajectory.
