Have you ever seen such a situation on this forums? Well, I haven't. I don't really see a reason to post a lecture how it's done properly. There should be a thread with a lecture how to handle criticism, since not everyone has this ability.

Well, because every good modder I know is that good because they received critique with straight to the point flaws that needed to be fixed. Simple as that. That's what those people do here as well. I simply don't know what's wrong about it.

Testing people's feelings? I told you I don't want to be hostile towards anyone, it just gets on my nerves that people are making such a big deal over small (actually good) things. Again, wasn't trying to attack you, if you felt that way in both threads then my apologizes.

I'm around modders (surprisingly a lot of them are still here) and modding communities for 9 years and it's really easy to observe who's gonna acomplish more when I look at their reactions in their W.I.P threads.

I don't think the prequels took as much effort at all. Took more money, sure, but not as much effort. They had to struggle with shooting in very difficult climates (Deserts and blizzard conditions) and actually build the rigs/costumes and transport them across multiple continents. Stormtroopers in the desert were difficult to film in particular due to the heat + being in a costume. Lucas himself had nasty health problems during the filming of Ep4, including severe panic attacks.

 

Now compare that to the prequels, which were all shot in studio with stupidly large budgets and Lucas sitting in a chair the entire time.

 

I can appreciate the art style of Episode 1, but that's about it.

Oh you can see on the documentaries how much work and how many people it involved, especially ROTS. Just watch the process of making Battle of Heroes scene, it's incredible.

Also, I don't like the word "sucks". Summing up and entire project that lasted many years to make by saying that it just "sucks" is not really helping anyone's understanding or showing respect for the artists/creators and their efforts on the work.

Really the most of people like TCW because it's "Star Wars". Not because it's actually worth watching. It would be a good series if it was a seperate project, non-canon and preferably NOT STAR WARS. It's literally "oh look lightsaber fights, oh look - Anakin turned to the dark side! oh look - Maul is fucking alive and he conquered Mandalore! and again, lightsaber fights! But this time with Yoda/Emperor/Dooku/Stephen Hawking and there are explosions everywhere daaaaamn, I love this story!"

Although the Clone Wars series is a good idea to realize, the performance is so awful if you're really interested in Star Wars. The events and the plot are so unreliable it hurt when I watched it. I have the impression that the makers of the show were so excited, that the Clone Wars period is free to use, that they put there everything what came to their minds, just to fill in the space with explosions, fights, lightsabers (which is why the show is mostly for kids) and random events which just couldn't fucking happen. 

EU was waaaaaaaaay more reliable than the "CANON" Clone Wars stories.

I do love the episode with Clonetroopers training on Kamino, though.

I hated that TCW introduced things that the movies didn't even hint at existing:

• magic? AS IF FORCE WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH!
• some spiritual world Yoda has to go to, while nobody else needed to do such a thing to become a Force Ghost? WELL YEAH WE NEEDED TO MAKE THE SHOW "INTERESTING", WHO CARES IF IT MAKES NO SENSE, IT'S FOR CHILDREN!
• a random world where a light side and a dark side users exist and are 5432645756743654 times stronger than any other Jedi/Sith, have a sad father, and can only be stopped by the Chosen One, which just happens to be "teleported" there? I'M OUT OF FUCKING COMMENTS!

TCW is fucking garbage and anyone who things otherwise is either a child (in heart, anyway) or a fucking idiot.

+ Maul survived the EP1 fight of course, his anger for Obi-Wan was stronger than life/death, seems legit (while some are frustrated that apparently Boba could survive the Sarlacc pit, Maul's case is just fine in their eyes). Oh and he conquered MANDALORE FFS

+ Anakin turned to the dark side and almost had the same fight as in ROTS, also had visions about becoming Vader and such. that's. just. too much.

Well, you can force anti-aliasing and 16x anisotropic filtering in your graphic card's settings. It's always an improvement

True, except he wanted the model of a copyrighted character, which while paying for such a thing is widely practiced, it IS by law a violation of copyrights.

 

Not to mention, he would still have needed the model rigged and placed in game, a task that he would either be paying the same person for or finding someone that would do it for free.

 

The fact of the matter is, even making such a model for free is a copyright violation, just one not likely to be enforced. Which is why we can do it.

So basically every model of a COPYRIGHTED character is illegal? Then I don't see why @ got so hated in that topic. I don't think that's true. You're saying I, for example, can't make a model of Vader just for myself and play with it because I'm violating the copyright? Then why this place even exists with so many Star Wars models? Also, JK2Files exists for a loooong time, even when all those EULAs and such existed and still applied. Why no claims were ever upheld?

I think it's not ok to actually SELL a modification... But AFAIK the whole discussion started out as kenoi's request for just a 3D model for which he wanted to pay. IMO it's nothing wrong, it's normal that people pay 3D artists for making a specific model for them. So it's for his own use and he can do whatever he likes with it.

They're as easy to use as the native ones, what are you talking about Except you can't use Slide option in Piano Roll, but you can get around it

I'm completely out of money to maintain it for the next month, but I'm definitely not abandoning it. I changed the name to Imperial Outpost yet the rules, neither the idea, haven't changed. It will sooner or later go back online for sure. Not gonna lie, some financial support would help a lot, but even if you can't help, the server will rise anyway, just later
