I get Windows 8 has its good points, but I have no idea if it's compatible with all the software I've got and I don't like being forced into a tablet interface when I don't have a touchscreen monitor. I would have bought Windows 8 if there was an alternate theme that caters to the part of the world's population who don't have a touchscreen monitor.

I've used windows 8. I've been forced into that tablet interface too many times, even with classic shell installed. It's not an enjoyable experience. If windows 9 fixes this problem, or at least makes an interface that is more "ascetically pleasing", I will be sure to upgrade. "How it looks doesn't matter, it's the other things that do". Oh, how it looks does matter alot! I don't want to turn on my computer every day and look at something disgusting...
