Alright Gotta make some concepts, I like the idea with the base infiltration. If that's okay, I would use that in the plan.
-
I really like all the ideas, the whole project sounds awesome - As I'm a fan of Stormtroopers, it would be cool to inplace some new ones, to make the "common" imperial opponents a little more exciting, like the Nova Troopers (could be done with a simple skin: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Novatrooper) on the space stations, or the Storm Commandos. One more mission in an imperial base would be cool aswell, like seen in JO at the beginning where you can only fight with rifles, but I think that's pretty much work, and I like the idea of getting the mod done in 1 or 2 months - New weapons would be very cool indeed, I would love to see the T-21 or the DLT-19, or some New Republic weapons, as they are very limited (I think it's only the DL-44 blaster pistol? And not even this is directly connected to the Republic) or even an antiquiated DC-15? - What's about some new maps? I really love the idea of your mercenary-mode, @@therfiles. I thought about making a new siege mission for a few months now, where you can chose between an arrested mercenary/bounty hunter group and the imperial crew of an imperial ship or space stations. The main goal of the mercenaries/bounty hunters, to get out of their cells (or maybe it even starts after they achieved that), fight their way through the corridors and steal a shuttle to get out of the station/ship. And the class that have been Jedi or Sith before can be "elite" soldiers, such as Dark Troopers or Nova Troopers for the Imperials and maybe a heavy armoured Trandoshan or something for the mercenaries/bounty hunters. If you're searching for people to map, I would like to help It could be even small projects, like new duel maps, though I like the idea of concentrating on the SP. Best Regards, Rage

Well guys, a little update. Not very much, but I finished the inn's furniture, scripted all the doors so far and a few things here and there One thing: Could anyone of you help me with the candle shader? As for now, I only could achieve that it's transparent, but I want it to "move" with the player, I tried out DeformVertexes, but that didn't work well. Also, it would be nice if it glows a little bit. The current shader looks like this: textures/ragesoblivion/kerzenlicht { q3map_nolightmap surfaceparm nolightmap surfaceparm nonsolid surfaceparm nonopaque surfaceparm nomarks surfaceparm trans cull twosided { map textures/ragesoblivion/kerzenlicht blendFunc GL_ONE GL_SRC_ALPHA alphaFunc GE128 alphaGen const 1.0 } } And at the end a few screens, hope you enjoy Best Regards, Rage

Finaly bought the Thrawn Trilogy Soundbook! Yay!
-
Thrawn Trilogy. Sooooo good! Zahn is the only author who does every character 100 percent justice all the time. Love those books
-
I haven't actually read any of the Thrawn Trilogy, I might do sometime, once I have finished the LOTR books. Currently about 2 thirds of the way through the Two Towers.
-
Sorry guys, have been busy in the last time :/ Yea man, the Thrawn Trilogy was awesome, I loved the feeling of the old films and the new introduced characters, such as all the new planets like Myrkr or New Cov. @Omnicron: It's definetly worth it Though the LOTR Books are absolutely nice aswell, no doubt. But I found the Two Towers from the beginning to the middle a little bit hard to read, it's written in a quite dark mood and everything in my opinion.
I've heard the engl...

Yea, from me too Never mind Zack edited it, so that it look very good and the fps are lower, but all in all, I absoloutely agree with you! Fun should be above all, one way or another, that's the reason we're all doing this, right? Yea, it first it were curves, but then I decied to do brushes out of them so that I can edit them better, for putting doors in it for example. But the site looks very nice, I will check it out
-
It's okay dude And btw: I am, too Good guess with the CSG Subtract operation, though it's very hard to see ^^ Awesome!

No lights yet

Thanks! Yea, as said, that's more like a concept, I gotta add all the details, at first I wanted to make an overview of everything. Good suggestions though @: I'll send you a PM
-
Thanks You mean the grass area, right? This is just for reasons to show how it's looking from outside But if you know how to handle such things, I would appriciate your adwise.

Well, who of you knows the Republic/Imperial Commando novels? I'm a quite a huge fan of the whole series, read the books probably for four times. But anyways, that thread ain't about these novels But at least about one appearing place, the Bastion in Kyrimorut, located on the planet Mandalore. I started to map this by reading the novels (of course again ) with my girlfriend (yea, heard right ), she knew about my hobby to map and so she made a sketch of the Bastion, because it's very well and detailed discribed in the books, aswell as it just gives you an emotion of feeling home by reading it. And so we started mapping, mostly me, but under the orders of her I want to present you a few screenshots aswell as a screen out of the Radiant. I stopped the progress on it, while I'm mapping on the Small Village at the moment, but anyways, I would like to finish this, too (I think the most of you know that feeling ). So, if you're a fan of the series too, give it a look, 'til now it's just a layout with textures. For those, who don't know the books: It's a place, as mentioned, on Mandalore (which is of course the homeplanet of the Mandalorians), and you see their culture in their buildings of course, too. This building has a round shape, with one entrance and one emergency exit, aswell as a huge room in the middle (you could say the living room, where everyone comes together), there shall be a fireplace, a huge table, chairs and stuff. Besides that and around the great room (called the karyai) are many sleeping rooms, which are either half over or half under the earth, a great kitchen with a storeroom, bath rooms and an armoury. It's literaly a bastion, put together out of nice looking architecture and pragmatism. Okay, enough said, here are the screens!
-
Dou you mean the gathered firewood or the whole chimney? Yea, I could work a little bit more on the textures that it looks a little bit more smooth, thanks for the adwise and the answer Oh, that sounds great, but first I have to look how the make an obj out of it Looking forward to this!
-
Thanks, guys, I really like those houses in reality, and ingame it's apperaing in a fairly cosy mood I'm planning to make a quite huge area, with several spots, one of these is the upcoming village. Others shall be an old windmill, a few ruins, a lonely tower and (hopefuly) a small city with walls around it. Gotta have a look how much of it I can realize and how the FPS will run And at the end a little impression (gotta work on the candle shader though): Best regards! Rage
-
Thanks dude So, it's been a while, but today I got a little time to do something, here are the screens (but without light). Hope you enjoy it! Here are the inn's sleeping rooms Table downstairs, get ready to eat! And I found this looking through my old maps Who know's, maybe it'll find a right place to fit in...? See you! Rage

Looks very nice, I like the cape aswell. Maybe I would make her hair a little bit longer. Is it orientated on Allegiance or the Thrawn Trilogy or anything else?

@@Szico VII: Congrats dude! Sorry I haven't post for a while now, holidays can be stressful, seriously. Meeting your family, your friends, your girlfriend's family, holiday trips, going camping and finding time besides that for yourself, which was very limited in the last weeks, and will be in the next 4 weeks aswell, I guess. But somehow that's the nice thing about it I think, it's always something going on, but I really really look forward to map, gotta look when I can work on on that. I edited the shader (and thanks for the explanation Szico!) and now the windows look a little better. When the progress goes on, I will load up some screenshots and look forward to feedback from you See you soon!

Hey guys, back from holidays! @ChalklYne: I'm not very used to alpha map light, you mean in the shader, right? The thing with the texture is, that it looks like this when I shrink it: with a quite thick edge, but if I edit it a bit with GIMP or something it should be ok, gotta try it out. With the wall problem, you mean the third shot? Maybe I gotta make it a little bit higher. A few, I'm able to edit textures such as the Tauntaun rider on the roof or something, but I never tried to make wood floors for example or something like that from scratch, but I'm very interested in it. A winter version seems cool, that's funny because I thought about making one, aswell as a night version (@@DT85 and Botdra ). Nope, these are from Oblivion (as Szico said ), I really like the atmosphere of the game and tried to bring something of it into JKA, though I don't want to make an "Oblivion JKA Conversion" or something, but bring my own ideas in it, but I can't deny that The Elder Scrolls inspired me Well, that looks cool, maybe I can use it in a basement section or something, if I find something, I will use it, but I think Milamber is right and I make it a little bit darker and something, but anways, thanks man! @@Botdra: Thanks dude, yea, I started something like that 3 years ago aswell and I hope I can finish it this time. @@bednarro: Thank you, nice screenshot, I would love to have that skybox and this detail in JKA And thanks at the rest, I really look forward to share more of the progress with you!

Hey guys, I decided to post a few pictures of the map I'm making currently. At the moment, there are three houses (but they're not finished yet, but you'll see ), made in medieval-fantasy-style. I plan to do a quite huge areal, with different spots, and one of these is the upcoming village, which shall be the centre of the map. Lightning is of course pre-alpha, I like to finish the parts and put the light into it after that. I hope you enjoy it, and questions or criticism other stuff is always welcome! Unfortunately I'll be in the Netherlands (unfortunately?! ) in the next two weeks, so I won't be able to map, but that's okay from time to time So, best regards Rage

Hey, I imported the .glm file into Blender and there was only the skeleton, I read a few things about it and I think my skills (that I don't have in modelling ) aren't enough for this. I thought it would be as easy as you explained it, but it didn't work in the editor. Hm, I think .md3 would be perfect.
-
Hey guys, I was wondering if one thing I had in mind is as easy to do as I thought. I want to have a Stormtrooper Helmet map object, just to put it anywhere, but the problem is: I have no idea of Model programs, just loaded Blender and Milkshape, but I'm not very used to it. Is it possible to "cut" the original model and just leaving the helmet? If it doesn't work, I could put a npc on the map with clip, too, but it would be very cool to make such map objects in my opinion. Thank you and keep going! Rage

Looking for More Kotor Maps
Rage replied to SecretApprentice's topic in Jedi Knight General Discussions
http://jediknight3.filefront.com/file/;118895 I made that one like 2 years ago. My dream was always to make a whole Taris Map, with the Upper, Under and even a Middle City, but unfortnately I never finished it. But anway, here's the Cantina Map Regards, Rage -
Yea, I used the remap key, but it could be that it wasn't a misc_model_static but a misc_model. But it's good to know that the fps normaly don't go down. Yep, I got behaved, but I'm not very used to it, got to look for some tutorials I guess, or do you have some other suggestions? Thanks for your replies!

Hey guys, I got 3 questions mentioned in the topic title, it would be very cool if you could help me with that. At first, I asked myself more than once, how it is possible just to give a map_object another texture? For example like make the trees from yavin covered with snow? I know that there's a possibility by just copying the original texture, paint it and using a code in the Radiant when the model is selected and writing in the entity menu that the new texture should be used. But when I tried it out, the FPS very much went down. Do I have to have some modelling skills for this or is there another solution? Next problem is that I wanna make some of the npcs in my maps sit on a chair or something. I saw that in Szicos Atlantica, but I think he made the scripts by himself (?). Is it difficult, or am I allowed to use them? And last but not least, is it possible to get the npcs walking around in MP aswell? That might sound stupid if it can be that OF COURSE it's not possible, but I just wanted to ask if there is any possibility, 'cause that might look very cool. Thanks and peace Rage

I really would love to see the site alive again. I personally found map-craft very useful and was there quite often to look for some tutorials. When I heard that you created map-forge as some kind of a replacement, I thought that was a great thing. I gotta say, like the others that there isn't so much around the site, but I look there quite often, if there's anything new. If I had the time (and I really want to have it!) I would like to help you by writing some tutorials or stuff. I would say: don't give it up man, just because in the last weeks there are no so many people active, that's not the end. Keep it going, it's a very good beginning in my opinion and a great thing that there are still people who want to keep JK alive, and there are plenty of them. Best regards
-
Man, that's no problem, I know that from my school It's done when it's done, right?

Heyho Akimoto, great topic you made here! I would like to ask you, if you could make a sword model for me by using that picture: The name could simply be 'Iron Long Sword', it's from TES Oblivion. I hope this topic is still active Best regards, Rage
