  3. I have Eclypses Weighting tutorial, and the Vincent skeleton. Problem is, this tutorial was written for XSI 4.2. It's old. I now have XSI 7.5, and it doesn't support exporting to .xsi. I know I'm not being very descriptive, because this issue has made my brain go dead. So basically: Does anyone know how to weigh models in Mod Tool 7.5? Do you have the right skeleton to weigh it to? Do you have a tutorial? How can I weigh without buying 3D Studio Max? HELP!
  4. I find it easier to attach a character personality to a blank face than a 'generic' face. It's also genderless which helps. But I like MUG's idea of choosing your own. People on random servers and different kinds of communities could use anything they wanted, while some of the stricter clans could develop a skin to pass out to their members for use. Or however they want to use it! Just anything but Kyle!

  6. Now, I know from SiLink that http://jkhub.org/area51/files/file/558-mp-player-skin-not-found-kyle-overwrite/ exists, but what I'd like to see is a little different. Rather than just a blank kyle, I'd like to see a mod that tells jk3 to reference a different model entirely when you don't have someones skin. Perhaps a blank mannequin. This way you wouldn't see so many Kyle's everywhere all the time. Also, people could start using the kyle model again without people thinking they were missing the skin. It would be especially useful to RP clans, because seeing a 3 foot tall kyle in place of a female youngling child is just.. weird. And immersion-breaking. Anyone think this would be possible? I'd be willing to reskin a model for use in the mod, or skin a brand new model.

  8. While chatting in this thread, the topic of JK3files possibly going down one day came up. It reminded me of other sites such as pcgamemods that used to exist, and how much I miss some of the mods that seemed to only be found there. I was thinking, with so many modders and JK players on this site, perhaps we can relocate some of the lost mods. If there's something you'd like to find again, ask for it here. If anyone knows where to find it, post a link. Remember not to actually upload any content without the authors permission, though. If we start getting a lot of finds, I'll create a list of links here at the top. I'll kick it off: I'm looking for the Max Rebo model that used to exist. Not the one where he's flying around in his little piano thing, but the model that had legs and was playable as a regular character. Anyone know where this could be found?

  12. Figured I'd say hi and introduce myself. Been playing JKA for around 7 years I think. Hopped around to a few clans, ran one with MagSul, and settled down into JEDI, where I'm currently at. I'm a skinner, and I'm glad to see this place up and running. Everything looks great! Will definitely be hanging around.

    This skin is of a male cathar (subspecies). It contains red and blue team skins, and uses sounds from the original game. CREDITS: All model and clothing skin credit goes to Spanki. The addition of pointy ears goes to DarkestTwin. All facial textures are mine. BUGS: Because of the model edit, the next warps slightly in the chair sitting position. However, it's barely noticable. This skin was originally created for use in ::JEDI::.
