Not only that, but they shaped up Anakin to an actually decent human being -- instead of him being a whiney, useless, spoilt, teenage brat. The Clone Wars makes sense of where the prequel films failed to immerse. It's a better telling of Anakin's life and story. Now every time I hear Old Ben talk about Anakin as a brave and valiant knight in the Clone Wars, I think of his story in the series, not the films.

Anakin's internal conflict is better represented in the series, and the building events that lead to his ultimate fate in the movies, and the fate of the Jedi Council.

Simply put, what The Clone Wars does is it gives depth to the prequel characters and their stories, and brings some of that original trilogy magic into the world of the prequels, the Clone Wars era.
