Start a new game? No wonder, my friend had the same problem. It's launching jasp.exe when it should be launching jamp.

Put this in your gamedata, and then double click it. Might help, but not sure. I know the MBII client has some bugs.

I don't it's the MBII client. If I try to load the MBII assets as a mod in JAMP or OpenJK, the same thing happens: when I start a new server/game, the JKA crashes out right after the "Starting up" screen. It never gets to loading the map. I think it's something to do with the assets and my (retail) version of the game, or its setup.
