Hello friend! I'm sorry this is happening to you. The reset button simply uses the command "reset." This will restore the cvar (something that stores a number, in this case, the third person range) to its original setting. The console command it uses is "reset cg_thirdpersonrange." You can find all this by opening the .pk3 and going to ui/camsp.menu. I would be curious to see if you were to edit your cg_thirdpersonrange setting in the console (to something random), then manually type "reset cg_thirdpersonrange" to see if it works as expected. If so, it would be some strange bug with the mod. Otherwise, something else is causing the issue. Good luck!

Thank you for the kind and helpful response. Unfortunately it still places the camera too close when using that command, strange. I wonder if it has anything to do with the resolution settings I am using (1920x1080). Weird thing is that this issue doesn't happen in multiplayer.

For now I am just to manually find a close to comfort zone in the CamSP settings, if I have to live with that then so be it. Just wish I knew why the 3rd person view range is so close compared to how it used to be when playing.

  2. I have recently started playing and modding JKJA after a long hiatus. I have been using CamSP (used it before in the past also), for some reason however when I use the reset option on range  (value 80 which it has always been) it zooms in like 20 to 40 more value points than it should (even though it says 80), where only the top part of the upper torso and head is visible, as opposed to the entire torso upper torso and some of the legs. I know I could adjust the value manually to get close to what it should be, but I'd rather just have it back to precisely what it should be in Vanilla. Does anyone know where CamSP stores its settings, so that I can truly reset it to the vanilla settings. I am really not sure why this is happening, but it has really been bugging me.

Looks like you don't have icons for the torso or lower skin files. You need at least 1 of each of those. Your head icons also don't match the head skin files. Make sure you have at least head_a1.skin, torso_a1.skin, and lower_a1.skin, along with the icons that match them but with icon_ as a prefix.

What the above comment says isn't necessary to simply make it show up in the menu, but using the JEDI_ prefix is best practice because the game is hardcoded to look for those first in various scenarios, and is the only way to get team colors working in MP in addition to the SP menu, but again, not necessary for the bare minimum. Same goes for the Hoth variants, though it'll be bugged when you get to that mission if you don't.

Here's a tutorial for you to run through if you need it:

Thank you, the missing icons was the culprit, I cannot believe I missed those! Everything shows up now in the main menu. Again, thanks for your help.

  4. Hello there,

It's been a while, I have been working on a new character customization mod (something I have done a few times in the past), however I have ran into the issue of it not showing up in the in-game menu. I have the strings all set up, I have the playerchoice text file present in the model folder, icons, skin files etc. I would appreciate it if a fellow modder would take a look and tell me what it is I am missing or done wrong, I know it has been a few years since I last created a mod like this, but I'd really appreciate the help fixing the issue. Here is a download link to the WIP .pk3: https://www.mediafire.com/file/0irtcuovq34cnty/CJP_DarklordMale_01.pk3

  5. When I play the mission "T1_Rail" the weather effects on the map are not in sync/motion with the fast moving tram/train, in other words the rain falls as if the tram/train is not in motion. This happens without using any mods so it has to be something in the base game files of the Steam version. I remember playing the disc version of JKA where the weather effects on this map were as they should be, in sync with the moving tram/train giving the effect that the rain and wind is flowing towards the character.

Has anyone else noticed this problem, and can provide a solution to getting the weather effects to act properly on this mission?

Edit: Also the weather effects on Hoth are not present, no snow falling whatsoever, something with the weather settings is not working right.

FIXED: seta r_weatherScale was set to "0" when it should've been set to "1" in the jaconfig.

  6. I am working on a project that uses this Old Ben model as a basis which I found posted on a forum years ago:

However I don't know who the original author is so that I can provide credit, so I am hoping someone here at the jkhub can provide me with answer as to who created the original model and textures.

Edit: DT85 for the model and Plasma for the body Textures, thanks.

  7. Don't worry, it's dead easy to get around this. When you import the .glm, make sure you delete 'default' as the skin option under the import options. Otherwise Blender is looking for an associated "model_default" .skin file for the weapon (as you get with player models) instead of not looking for anything at all.

    Thank you, that did it!

  8. I just cannot get saber .glm models to import using Blender 2.76b coupled with the 2.64 JKA Plugin Suite v0.2.2. Blender gives the reason "cannot open skin file", even though the skin file and all the textures are present in the saber folder (present in "GameData/base/models/weapons2/(saberhilt name))".

Is there something I am missing?

  9. I think it would be awesome to see a Toshi Luke in JKO (I personally think JKO is a bit of a stronger/better game) but honestly everyone has been making mods and such for JA and there are mods to play the JOSP in JA so creating a mod for Jedi Outcast like this would seem a little pointless and obsolete.

Never the less, I still hope someone will take the time to put together a version for JKO as some people (like myself) still play it, even if there is a mod for JKA that runs the levels from JKO.

  10. I believe this might be of some use. This is a patch to make it compatible with Jedi Academy (or so I read) I will test it to make sure it is indeed compatible with Jedi Academy.

You can download it here - https://www.mediafire.com/?14msygwhz2fb6ah

EDIT: I have tested out the patch and I found no errors/bugs/missing textures. The map is quite nice and is 100% compatible with Jedi Academy now. I did not make this patch and I have no idea who did, but the credit is all theirs.

Thanks for responding, this patch works for the most part, however once you get to the final section of the map (where Vader slices off Luke's hand) the backdrop texture becomes all mirrored and repeats itself over and over which makes it close to unplayable.
