Try reinstalling. If that doesn't work, join here and ask. They're still pretty active there and would probably help you out.
I've posted twice and it's not showing up! And I've tried reinstalling and that didn't work either.

Whenever I open up MB2, it works just fine, but when I start a game, I get a message that says "Jedi Academy (MP) has stopped working." This happens every single time I try to start any level. Can someone help me please?

When I try to decompile the map "mb2_deathstar", I get a message saying "........ is not an RBSP file". I really want to decompile this map ONLY to change it to FFA, not to rip anything off and use it for myself. By the way, I used "game ja" and "game jk2". Are neither of those what Movie Battles II runs on?
-
Anyone know a good decompiler for JA?
-
Has it occurred to you that you're using a Half Life 2 tool to decompile a Jedi Academy bsp?
Oh... right... Well, I didn't know what Half-Life was. So, what can decompile JA maps?
-
Whenever I try to decompile a map with BSPViewer, it says "Invalid Half-Life BSP", or something like that. I want to convert this map from siege to FFA! I need help!

Can map entities be edited using a hex editor?
XVI32 is a hex editor, but I don't know how to find the entity I want to change. Do you?
-
There is a siege map that I want to turn into DFA, but I don't know how to edit with XVI32. Can someone help me?
-
Thank you for sharing. Did you have a question?
Really, that is my question. How do I edit an entity?
-
I am trying to change a spawn point in a map but I don't know how to use XVI32.
-
How do I find and change an entity in XVI32?
-
You can't open with Notepad, you need a hex editor like XVI32
Find any of the aforementioend entities, and replace the _red with spaces (DO NOT press delete).
Save and test out. Make sure you backed up the BSP as even the slightest break in formatting (Such as deleting any of the character spaces (which shifts all the next ones 1 to the left) will corrupt the bsp.
I can't find that entity in XVI32. All I get is a bunch of DOS.
-
That's because MB2 maps are siege, and the mapper didn't include any FFA map spawns on it.
You could hex edit the BSP and change the name of an info_player_start_red to info_player_start[][][][]
And how do I do that?

Some images would probably be helpful at this point.
Here's a video. Maybe this will help shed some light.
Ignore the second part of the video.

When I try to play MB2 Death Star Escape on KOTF, I get a message that says "Couldn't find a spawn point." Is there a way to fix this?
-
Some images would probably be helpful at this point. Did you do SHift +S and then hit "Fit" or try set and you can do like 2x1 or 3x1 instead of fit (1x1)
I'm not sure how to do this. When I pull up "Set" and mess with it, it keeps going back to its original state.

http://jkhub.org/tutorials/article/91-creating-curved-corner-cylinders/page-3?
There you go, then you just need to "Fit" your texture to the patch and it will bend it to fit the patch. Much easier than making a round texture, especially as radiant round curves aren't actually perfectly round so never match up with a texture that is.
Well, I got the patch part figured out, but the texture still isn't fitting properly.
-
seriously tho what read-only files?
My LucasArts folder and all the other folders are read-only.
-
Use a patch to bend the flat texture, I think is what he's getting at.
To make the patch more circular as opposed to Bezier, bring in the corner control vertices a bit from their corner.
Like so:
https://jkhub.org/images/F1MxwKA.png
It will look a bit pointy at the corner in radiant, but appears fine ingame.
Could you be a bit more specific? By the way, how do you get the brushes in a four piece circle?
-
I have struggled with that as well designing the training room floor from TFU
I did find the solution though... The rotate tool in photoshop
Something like this?
http://www.bittbox.com/illustrator/complex-circular-design-techniques
Not exactly of course, but it should give you the rough idea
I think you two might have misunderstood me. I want to know how to make the orange light shader go circular on the brush. I already know how to make the BRUSH circular.
-
How can I make a shader circular, like the carbon freeze platform in this picture here?
Many people have suggested MUG's tutorials to me. If someone knows which tutorial of his, if any, shows how to do this, please tell me.

Well, I don't know about 1.3 for sure, but I guess it has the same save bug. Why would you use such an ancient version?
Because it was the only version that could get past the LucasArts read-only files.
-
No, this is 1.3
