ZanderNao Posted June 10, 2017 Posted June 10, 2017 So this is a problem I've seen from time to time over the years, but it's really coming to a head now. When I try to host a game on my main computer, my other computers and my friends' computers can't see it, but it can join when the other computers host.I've tried it on different networks, with and without mods.I've gone into the firewall and made sure that inbound and outbound communication is permitted, I've even made sure Jedi Academy's default port is allowed free reign. Is there something I'm missing?
Circa Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 Could just be your ISP blocking the port on their end.
ZanderNao Posted June 15, 2017 Author Posted June 15, 2017 Well, I have several computers and they are using the same port, and I've tried LAN, WAN, and direct connection with a crossover cable... So I think the issue may be elsewhere. Thank you for responding though!
Circa Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 So hosting it over LAN still doesn't work? And you forwarded port 29070?
ZanderNao Posted June 15, 2017 Author Posted June 15, 2017 I need to look into port forwarding when I get home from work, so that'll be my next goal. Thank you for the tip!
ZanderNao Posted June 16, 2017 Author Posted June 16, 2017 Port forwarding did not seem to do the trick. The computer can join games hosted by others, they just can't see it hosting.
ZanderNao Posted June 16, 2017 Author Posted June 16, 2017 Well, I have a half answer. The problem appears to be in openjk, not vanilla JAMP. It had been a while since I jumped back into the classic. There is no issue with JAMP, so I guess this thread can be deleted or archived.
