Cerez Posted April 28, 2016 Author Posted April 28, 2016 I'm most definitely obsessed, but after watching Ahsoka's frame-up for the gazillionth time, I am convinced that both Letta Turmond and Barriss Offee were pawns in a bigger game. That by this time Admiral Tarkin was well in the pockets of Darth Sidious, and that the entire, brilliantly sinister ordeal sprung from the mind of Darth Sidious in order to discredit the Jedi, plant a seed of doubt in the public, and in the same swift blow eliminate Anakin's Padawan -- Skywalker's only holding link to the Jedi ways -- and free Anakin's mind up to his dark influence.
Teancum Posted April 28, 2016 Posted April 28, 2016 I love the way they portray Ahsoka now in Rebels. I only wish they'd kept her face tatoos consistent between shows.
Cerez Posted April 29, 2016 Author Posted April 29, 2016 I only wish they'd kept her face tatoos consistent between shows. You and me both. I hate the way they shallowed her character, though. She goes so much deeper than that. And I can't stand it how she still sounds 16 years old as an adult.

Cerez Posted April 29, 2016 Author Posted April 29, 2016 That's the voice of a 34 year old woman though. A voice actress, who plays teenagers, yes. I'm not saying that it's impossible for an adult Ahsoka to sound like that. It's just that that's what she sounded like as a teenager already in The Clone Wars. You would think that her voice would mature by the time she is twenty-something. To me, for an adult Ahsoka, she just sounds way too young to be taken seriously. Don't take me wrong, I love Ashley's work, but her vocal performance just does not suit an adult Ahsoka at all in my honest opinion. They've changed everything else about Ahsoka, but they kept her voice. The decision was just a cheap commercial/executive choice. Not much thought was given to it. They figured that if her voice sounds the same, and she looks somewhat like the original Ahsoka, most people will go for it -- and I guess they were right. But that doesn't mean I have to like it. As a dedicated fan, I still think it was a cheap and horrible choice. They could have done so much better if they had actually put some effort into it, and focused on quality in storytelling instead of being entirely focused on marketing the show.

I mean, that's Ashley's normal voice. I don't really mind about it since most women don't change their voice that much after puberty, but how did you picture Ahsoka's old voice in your mind?

But as I said, the writing has a lot to do with it, as well. The way she's responding in conversations -- the experience is just not there. She still seems like her 16-year-old self from a decade ago, and that's just not right. People grow, they change.
