DangerMuffin Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 So, I finally figured out how to get my custom tracks to play in game, but now I am a little confused on how to make my dream music overhaul mod. For levels like t1_rail, it's just one single track, easy peasy. But for the dynamic tracks found in pretty much every other level, how to I edit those to flow smoothly? I understand action and exploration music files, simple enough, but what does the atr and etr music files stand for? Thanks for all the help so far!
mrwonko Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 I've never looked into it in detail, but the Dynamic Music System uses the ext_data/dms.dat file, which seems to define the timestamps at which switching between tracks sounds seamless, so you'll probably want to look into that.
Circa Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 The way I did it for the prequel music mod was just did my best to find parts of tracks that could stand out or be used as exploration or action parts. It's more work but it turned out okay. I made that mod over a decade ago so I'm sure I could do much better now but it works pretty well. https://circa.im/files/jka/PrequelMusicReplacement.zip
