Akkarin Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 HI all, I have a question for the Substance Painter users here. I would like to know, if there is a new export to JK workflow. I know @@Rooxon https://jkhub.org/topic/10170-advanced-lightsaber-crafting-video-tutorial-series/ tutorial? Thank you!
Rooxon Posted November 17, 2018 Posted November 17, 2018 I know @@AshuraDX can surely give you a lot of tips on that, other than the converter smart material I use there's also a possibility to combine different PBR maps later in photoshop with different blending types (You start of with the basecolor map as your base, paste the AO map over it and set it to multiply, paste the roughness over it and set it to overlay or softlight, take the green channel of the world space normal map for top-down lightning set to multiply etc). It's also exactly what the converter smart material does but on it's own without you needing to paste all those maps one over the other so it's just a time saver.
AshuraDX Posted November 18, 2018 Posted November 18, 2018 That depends on the version of substance painter @@Akkarin is using. I havn't updated in a long time.
Akkarin Posted November 19, 2018 Author Posted November 19, 2018 Thanks to both of you. The workflow you describe was in your great tutorial, I might find the time to try it on the weekend.@@AshuraDX I am using 2018.2.1 You wrote the smart material converter to Jedi academy for an older version?
AshuraDX Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 @@Akkarin, yes I did. That one enver got a public release though after someone used it to disguise a ported model as custom work on here.
Akkarin Posted November 20, 2018 Author Posted November 20, 2018 @@AshuraDX I guess with this backstory you won't release it right? Was this smart material painter version depended? AshuraDX likes this
Solution AshuraDX Posted November 20, 2018 Solution Posted November 20, 2018 Nope, not exactly dependend But somewhat broken in its current state, I plan to remake it some time.
Akkarin Posted November 20, 2018 Author Posted November 20, 2018 Thanks for the reply! Then I will use the traditional workflow and hope that at some point you remake it.
