  1. I used a generic Star Wars name because I feel that's the best way to go

Did you use a random Star Wars name generator? I swear I once got "Luke Solo" on one of those things. Ever since then I've made up my own names.

As for scale, perhaps he used tcMod scale in its shader or something.

    THE CROSSHAIR HAS NO SHADER.

  2. Interestingly enough, the Latin alphabet exists in the Star Wars Universe as the High Galactic alphabet. However, I doubt it would be used on bounty scanners, especially since a two thirds of the galactic population couldn't even read it. It really depends on whether the mod should lean more toward canonicity or faithfulness to the original game. That's why I like @@Botdra's idea of releasing different versions, so the user can decide how he/she wants to play. However, I guess your idea would be a good combination of both accuracy to the Star Wars universe and, um, nostalgia?

  3. The easiest way to do this is to just type

bind x "npc spawn lightsaber_good; npc spawn lightsaber_good; npc spawn lightsaber_good"

in your jampconfig.cfg. x obviously is the key you would normally use for force sight.

Of course, this wouldn't use the leveling system of other force powers, but this way you don't have to use complicated coding.

  4. I don't actually think Boba Fett's armor should be shiny at all. It's not like he polishes it every day. In the movies, it's really just scratched paint, and no special glazes or whatever. However, I do think you're starting to get the colors more accurate (brightness, hue, etc).

  5. Also, eventually I'll change the description of the force powers and the different levels of the force lightning to something more appropriate, but I just came back from playing a rowdy house show and the creative part of my brain is fried.

Use Wookieepedia. You don't need to be creative, you simply need to use a slightly modified version of their description. Or I could make one, if you want. I've replaced all the weapon descriptions using Wookieepedia articles.

Obviously, the Imperial officers in JKO and JKA, well...sucked. As a huge Imperial officer fan, I was delighted when I found Cryptaea's reskins of Hapslash's Improved Imperial Officer with customizable rank insignias, code cylinders, etc. However, most of these accessories are surfed off by default, and, as far as I know, model parts can only be surfed on in .npc files, after JKA got rid of .surf files. Could someone either modify the model so the accessories are surfed on by default and can be surfed off in a .skin file, OR tell me how to surf on model parts without modifying the model or using a .npc file and the playermodel command.

Hapslash (again) started a great General Veers model, but unfortunately, like so much of his work, it was never finished. My second request is an Imperial officer with General Veers' Imperial army trooper armor.

Optional: Goggles up and down, customizable rank insignia like above.

MBII came with two Imperial models I like: an Imperial Commando and an AT-ST Pilot.

First: model of these two models so that they are either wearing their goggles on their helmets like these guys:

    Atstcrew.jpg

or don't have any goggles at all, like these guys:

Optional: A modified Imperial Commando to look like a Field Commander from Empire at War:

Not an Imperial officer, but I don't feel like creating a new Rebel thread:

A model of a Rebel Honor Guard.

    Optional: the electropole with effects.

    Again, not an Imperial officer:

The base Rebel trooper with the visor down like an Honor Guard.

    #6.

The Imperial officer model from the first request with Galak Fyyar's head.

Optional: The model with customizable heads, like the Jedi head, the Chiss head, the Kyle head, etc.

    Note:

I do NOT expect all of these requests to be fulfilled. One or two would be fine with me, but I wouldn't care that much if no one takes any of these. This thread was just a way for me to get my ideas out.

  7. I just realized that the DEMP probably also uses the same stun effects/shaders. However, I do like the idea of replacing the electrocution images with blank ones. It won't look that bad, even with the DEMP.

I would just replace the lightning effect with Boba Fett's flamethrower effect. Then you don't have to worry about Dark_Maul's mod at all.

  8. For the text, you need to go into both assets0.pk3/strings/English/MENUS.str and assets0.pk3/strings/English/sp_ingame.str to change everything related to lightning.

I think the force lightning uses the same effects/shaders as just about everything else electrical. This is probably why Dark_Maul didn't change them. Any map that will electrocute you (like cairn_dock1 in JKO, I can't think of a JKA example off the top of my head) will now use the flame effects. Unless I'm wrong, which is of course a possibility.

Finally, if you don't want to worry about using Dark_Maul's mod without his permission, then use the base fire effects. Boba Fett used a flamethrower in the base game, just use those effects.

  9. I want to understand the conditions on which these things occur like what determines sense to differentiate team, I plan to have your bounties always be neutral characters, so only the would have a yellow glow

That's easy. The "playerTeam" key in the .npc file determines the NPC's color in force sense. Unfortunately, like @therfiles said, you can't change the color effect without going into the code (as far as I know). I think it's also the same for the color of the crosshair, because there's only one image for each crosshair, and no shader. Therefore @Botdra's idea of using different images for the different colored crosshairs wouldn't work. Unless of course we can find a coder.
