I need to start doing more of this thing people call sleep.

I know two things that are great against insomnia: daily physical exercise (best in the evenings to tire you out, and spend the extra energy), and a comfy bed with warm (non-caffeinated) tea, where you feel safe. Have you tried moving your bed to a different position in your room? Sometimes that helps. If there's water flowing in pipes below that can disturb your sleep without your knowing.
