  1. Wow, I really like it! Superb work, @@Scerendo! It really feels like a real life version of Quinlan Vos, the tough-headed and rugged featured, individualistic action hero. And his Padawan appearance is a huge bonus, and a great interpretation. It looks wild and untamed, just like him! Good luck (and lots of patience) with the weighting. I've just been through it myself for the first time, so I know it's no easy task... *wipes sweat off brows*
  2. I think it's mostly in the texture. Maybe where the nostrils meet the vertex needs to be pushed down a bit. I'll see what I can do about it...
  3. Well, Padme's nose is rounder compared to her Clone Wars counterpart, too, and Ahsoka has a rounder nose in the cartoon show than Padme... The current texture does make it look a little rounder than the actual's model's nose is, though. I may try to play with that a little bit.
  4. How so?
  5. Here's a little comparison exercise, just for fun. [Edit: Removed. Bad example. I've taken that screenshot in ModView, and ModView makes her appear very different than she actually is in-game.] I can see that the lips still need work...
  6. *faceplant*
  7. I suppose you're right. But it feels so different. And her nose and face have been elongated... It must be the stylisation, again. They go to such extremes with these design looks... Edit: Oh, and it's not face paint, @. It's actually a geometric colour pattern on Togruta's skin that's genetic and unique to each person. They are born with it. At least that's what is said in the official books. The same goes for the lekku/montral pattern. It doesn't change much as they grow. Togruta also don't have eyebrows, and instead of ears they have higher spacial and sound awareness with their montrals. And unlike Twi-leks, Togruta's headtails (lekkus) don't house their brain, but are still considered an attractive, sensual, and proud feature. A quick little Star Wars lesson there for you.
  8. It's actually pretty close to that, but even more realistic. (The eyes are a little big, and the nose is not really accurate in this image.) It's very hard to please everyone, especially because her original look is completely stylistic as an animated character. Cadellin and I have spent a lot of time working on her face, and interpreting her Clone Wars stylised features into a realistic look -- by comparing her design and features with the rest of the characters. Trying the best that we could, we've come up with this look. I feel it translates her features well into realism: * No more giant eyes, but her eyes are just as lively and prominent. * A perky, small and rounded nose, just like in her original look, but as a real human nose now. * Deep orange skin that feels like dark, black skin -- tanned. * Thick and dark lips, but as real human lips, that match the shape of her mouth. (Though I need to fix up the corners a bit.) * Her trademark white birth pattern on her face, accurately portrayed. * A rounded face and small chin, just like her in the show. * Her lekkus and montrals, now shaped around a proper human head, but still retaining their shape and their exact blue pattern. * Her signature headdress, only slightly altered to fit a real human head. * An athletic and thin body shape that fits her energetic, 16-year-old disposition. * Clothing textures based on real materials, and her personal signature Padawan outfit made to fit a real human body. At any rate, that's the best we could do. Feel free to have a go at reskinning her once she's released, if you feel you could try a different interpretation.
  9. Thanks! No, you're not the only one. I feel it, too. XD It's the corners of the mouth that's doing it. I'll fix it up while working on the textures...
  10. Time for a front peek... or... face-time! Never mind the low-res shoulder and torso textures. They're still very much a work in progress.
  11. Perhaps that's something for version 2 of the model? To turn the straps and pouch into 3D shapes instead of just textures, and add it to the model as a new hips object (that can be turned off)? In all honesty it's not that bad, though. The pouch is really small. In JKA's low poly world it looks just fine textured. I just need to increase the visual quality of the textures. On my to-do list. Edit: @@AshuraDX, would you be okay with me bundling your Ahsoka lightsaber hilts, along with their readme, with this model -- to make it easier for everyone to download?
  12. I know... I couldn't convince Cadellin. He wanted to keep the poly count as low as possible. Now I can't extrude it because the poly layout does not match. I'm afraid that'll have to stay skinned. I'll try to do a good job skinning it, so that it at least creates the illusion of 3D... The advantage is that the model is more re-usable, for creating new skins, without it.
  13. It's not paint...
  14. It could be red dirt. Quite common is some parts of the world (like here in Australia), and I suspect on some Star Wars planets, too.
  15. I didn't like that look, either, but at least that was consistent with her character features.
  16. I love it, Intone! You really should write this story. Those are some really good creative plot ideas. It sounds like something that should have been a part of TCW2, or a full novel following TCW. That's what I've always loved about TCW and Star Wars -- the personal stories of all involved, Jedi, civilian, and soldier alike. This would make a great story, and I would definitely read it. *nods* Edit: Well, it doesn't even feel like the same character anymore, @@Circa. I'm having trouble relating her at all to the original Ahsoka we've grown to know and love... That's fine if you like the new Tano, but I find this new direction quite hard to swallow...
  17. Hahaha! They had to replace her head with another person's to hide her identity during the execution of Order 66. So it's still Ahsoka, but with someone else's head... Edit: I have a feeling Dave was trying to bring back Ahsoka into the picture, but the new management had new ideas about how she should look and sound, and her role in the new series. But that's just another wild guess from me...
  18. Let me rave about this... I just saw the new Ahsoka in Rebels. I like the new outfit, but with her head and face... what were they thinking? She doesn't even look like Ahsoka anymore -- more like a strange, distant relative. They changed the patterns on her lekkus and montrals, and even the signature pattern on her face. That doesn't change in Togruta! Not to mention that she's supposed to be 31 years old here, and she sounds like she's 15 at most... I don't get it... Also, at 31 years of age, her montrals should have grown significantly. By their length she looks no more than 20 years old here... (This is one of the ways I know Rebels is not really headed by Dave Filoni and his creative team anymore.)
  19. You've really improved a lot with your texturing skills, @. Keep it up. This is looking really good.
  20. That's true, but it's nothing that a little model tweaking can't fix. The bigger problem is that she's 12-13 at the beginning of the series, and 16 at the end. That's a big difference in realistic growth and development. Making a 12-year-old model for JKA is difficult. Even the 16-year-olds look like 19-year-olds in this game. She would have to look something closer to NeoMarz's younglings, to make it true to life. We were aiming for a 16-17-year-old with this design.
  21. Great suggestion. I have visually compared my model's shoulders to his Leia, and it's doing quite well in comparison. So I guess I did a good job, even if I don't feel the results... I knew Infinity Blade. He was a great guy. He's HapSlash's brother, you know. I really feel for HapSlash, now that IB is not around anymore... They are both honorary members of our greater community. We were honoured to have them, truly.
  22. Meaning her early, season 1-3 look? No, but I don't see why someone interested wouldn't be able to reskin this model to her other outfit. They're quite similar in terms of body shape. Only the buckle is a little different, but that's really a minor detail. Thanks everyone for your support. Stay tuned.
  23. Thanks. Well, I was entertaining the idea that someone could neatly merge the head with the Jedi Human Female body. That way, with a few good reskins, we could create a new, Togruta single-player species. I think that would make a worthy "Frankenstein" project... (But that'll have to wait until after the release. I've simply got too much on my hands now...) Well, this is a model custom made from scratch for JKA. The CWA model was made for a different game, so you can't really compare them directly. This model has a realistic design while the CWA model has the stylistic cartoon design of the show. Imagining and fine-tuning the realistic design was a lot of work. But I'm getting ahead of myself. More in time.
  24. Agreed. Those are really good points. *nods*
  25. She's back from hiding, coming soon to even the score. (And to show everyone how @@AshuraDX's lightsabers are really wielded! Haha!) Teaser screenie now, more info later... I'm still working on finalising the rigging and texturing. And yes, it's a realistic, JK version of her. (I have been listening. ) Edit: I've been working on this model closely with a skilled friend of mine for almost half a year now. It's come a long way since we started on this project together. Now that it's finally nearing release, I thought it may be time for a treat.
